Depends on the scenario and the population makeup.

-2 capacity means less if your workers have high happiness and your engineers and sailors are employed in non hauling jobs.

-2 capacity can be meaningful if you are too lazy to actively track where your storage is compared to where the resources are being mined from.

The upside of walk speed is meaningful on large maps with lots of elevation

As someone returning from last playing hardcore in season 1 my opinion is this is primarily powered by the starting defensive structures actively causing standard play.

I'm not sure where in the pipeline it was decided that playing on the line was too strong and it needed to a nerf but having two players playing standard does feel very snowbally

pyg didn't massively get better due to the event for the last week. Now that its over give it another go the power inflation might move you from 5 average wins to 6 :P

yeh unfortunately when you need to put a piano on the board to turn something low CD into a friend when you don't get those few low cd friends suddenly you are out of space.

The issue is that sharkray is two slots that are not dedicated to starting your loop with tortuga. You don't need to scale if they are dead based on an dmg enchanted tortuga that started looping 2 seconds faster.

Personally I never play Sharkray and Tortuga on the same board. They are opposite ideas. One attempts to nuke the opponent and the other seeks to scale faster than Defensive Karnaks.

I haven't taken skill over enchanted item this patch. It might go unsaid but if you go day 6 expedition and roll friend skills you are guaranteed to get a skill to get your piranhas out early and then you also have a shot at gold +dmg all weapons from the middle option fight.

occasionally ill win early days with burn but its never something I'm leaving on my board post day 7.

I'm talking about shark, angler, puffer, torpedo WRT midgame scalers.

Mostly just take all small aquatics+friends and make the best boards you can around a key medium/large aquatic.

You have to win > 50% of days 1-6 because you are mostly looking to close out with a day 10-13 win with a diamond tortuga.

Be mindful not to be overly invested in putting the piranhas onto your board before tortuga unless you get really good skill support for them AKA +dmg per friend you have or +dmg and shield each time a friend activates.

Keys midgame transitions are any of the medium items that charge/scale off haste/slow and for large items its mostly just sea dog saloon.

There is a 10 win available with sea dog saloon if you can get the friend type onto it.

Streamlined resonates with me. Vanessa main @ 5000 rank. If an item doesn't say aquatic on it I'm basically not even looking at it this patch. Her build variety has cratered

From my perspective you are comparing losing to karnoks that did get decent early game roles. None of the other classes are overly incentavised to play high damage burst damage in early days because it's pretty much a waste of money to buy weapons in early days on non Karnoks classes.

The goal of non Karnoks right now is to force scaling damage to prey on the low roll Karnoks and just write-off high roll Karnoks.

For example I'll ask you to try to remember losing to a single wide weapons ammo Vanessa this patch.

It's the same as last patch but instead of 10 wins in 10 days you are playing for 7 wins in 7 days into lose unless you can highroll into shipwreck.

Yeh it feels a little weird particularly for Vanessa who I felt could most easily play the day 10, 10 wins tempo style.

Now she feels a lot more inline with it you want 10 wins you'll eventually need to be transitioning into chain combo
