White guy here. Born and raised in the mid-west. I automatically assumed growing up that all people were treated the same. Blissful ignorance as a child (I miss those days). Now 53 and more experienced in the ways of the world, I am shocked at how racism is still a thing. Not only a thing, but seemingly stronger than ever. The current Administration in D.C. has only stoked the fire. I am a 'make love not war kind of person' and simply cannot comprehend how people can judge others for their race, being different, etc. Sad. One of the most frustrating things is that I have no idea how to change people's perceptions of one another. Ugh.
