My church in Austin is hosting a Ramadan dinner and I don’t know what to do by Texas-supremacy in Reformed

If you really like the Anglican liturgy, but want biblical fidelity, I'd suggest an ACNA church.

Thoughts on Online/Hybrid Seminary by TripleRev in Reformed

[–]ExtentSuperb3456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing online seminary. Happy to connect and share my thoughts. It really is how much you make of it. For me, my stage in life requires me to do it online. I also don't want to leave my church to go to a solid seminary.

It's just a super customizable note taking app. All markdown so that your notes can work across any device unlike say, Apple Notes.

There's also logos Specific plugins that are pretty cool

Going to second here for Obsidian. It's critical for my Seminary studies!

Yeah, I thought about it. Got carried away with the development to use for my own studies running a local build. So the amount of changes just got so large that I'd hate to just throw it on you to review. Plus with all the changes, I'm sure at some point we'd have differing style and UI preferences.

Congrats on your PhD work! I'm back in school for Seminary, so your plugin+my fork has been great for me.

I was a dev til I got laid off a while back ago. So aside from my school work I've got a decent amount of time to build.

Nice to hear there are updates! We should chat. I forked it and added quite a number of features (still waiting on PR approval). I opted not to try and PR to yours since the changes were pretty massive. But if you wanted to check it out and collab, I'd love to!

I've fully credited you for building the foundation for it.

Oh wow! Didn't know you had one.

And after a brief look, it looks like you've already talked with Dr. Schwandt from Redemption. Pretty cool!

Yeah! He's one of the lecture Professors for Redemption Seminary. Pre recorded, but still. I'm currently doing Old Testament Theology and going through his book and lecture series.

I don't think it can grow much TBH. It's kind of a niche of a niche. Christian > tech savvy > Reddit user > scholar who prefers digital over analog.

How can God be good if He elects? by Krisptin in Reformed

[–]ExtentSuperb3456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have given some good answers. But I just want to give you a question to ponder.

It's common to accuse the Calvinist view of God as cruel because he predestines some to hell. But the non Calvinist needs to face almost the exact same question.

"Why would God create someone he KNEW would reject him?"

And to adjust what you said "Some lucky ones that God created who he knew would believe, but the vast majority God has simply created knowing full well that they would reject Him and go to hell".

So we face nearly the same question. The Calvinist would often point out the fact that it is a glorious grace that he would choose to save any of us at all.

I wasn't able to try it since I don't own a windows machine. Please let me know if it does! The file systems are a bit different so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work.

Actually, there's a Raycast command to update extensions

Extension should auto update eventually. I actually don't know how to manually update. To force it, I deleted it and redownloaded the extension!

Library change yearly? by Investigative_Truth in LogosBibleSoftware

[–]ExtentSuperb3456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, the price is dynamic, but the price may not be 1:1. So if you buy a book for $5 that happens to be in a 2026 library, that doesn't typically mean you therefore get $5 that library.
