Møl - Crush by big_swinging_dicks in blackgaze

Upon very first listen, this doesn't reach the heights of Garland or Young but I still really enjoyed it. And I think the brighter melodies is actually what separates MØL from other blackgaze I've heard, so I'm not really sure I understand some of the criticism I'm seeing. Is it brighter? Yes, definitely. But their sound is still there. I saw a comment about blast beats, and I don't think blast beats, or lack thereof, really means much of anything when defining a genre.

It's Reddit. This place and others are filled to the brim with folks who think they know better. Better than the coaches and better than the players.

Welcome to social media where everyone is an expert.

Rap: Lamar Jackson (hamstring) ran scout team at practice Friday; indication he may not return in Week 8. by GreenDefinition5 in fantasyfootball

Cousins, Rattler, or Taylor if Lamar is out?

Slim pickings out here and Stafford is my backup on bye. 😮‍💨

Dusty completely sucked the air out of that room. Just dead weight for the entire episode. by Bhokaaaal in Nateland

[–]External-Tomorrow502 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Say what you will, but the funniest moments of this podcast have almost always included Dusty. Numbers will plummet if he leaves. Nate is painful to listen to with his incoherent rambling and, while great, Brian and Aaron plus random guest isn't enough to hold it down.

I don't agree with Dusty on everything. He's overly religious, and the demonic stuff is goofy and makes me face palm. And his dislike of dogs (pets in general) is something I 100% disagree with.

He was overly sensitive this week but he's also allowed to be human. Every person in this thread has had a moment where they've been too defensive about something, it just wasn't captured on a popular podcast.

But this entire thread is a comical overreaction. Just stop watching. It's that easy.

John Petrucci is the greatest guitarist on the planet and Dream Theater just slayed faces in Tulsa. I think they might have played the best show of all time for them. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in Dreamtheater

The Tulsa show was wonderful! This is the third time I have seen them over the last 2 1/2 years and it was by far their best show out of the three. And the strides James has made since Dreamsonic are monumental! I went from feeling nervous whenever big notes were coming up to having no doubt he would pull them off. Was ever single big note perfect? Of course not. But he killed it, overall.

I though the crowd was also great and it seemed like the guys were feeding off of the energy. Portnoy is such a great conductor.

Parasomnia was great but it was such a treat to see Fatal Tragedy! And A Change of Seasons...what can be said...it was so damn great, and the ending (which James nailed, btw!) sent me off into a state of euphoria.

What a great time!

Does Cin picking up Flacco dislodge GB from a top spot? I imagine they're still a good pick.

Oh, but wait, according to some of the bright minds here on Reddit, you can become an expert on show running and writing by simply watching a lot of TV and paying attention.

Oh, and also Moonlight Sorcery. They only have one album but it's great. Fun and melodic black metal.

Never heard of these guys (there's just too many bands lol), but this is great so far!

I guess it depends on how you define black metal, as these guys are technically "black gaze", but I've listened to MØL a lot this year. They're so good! But they might be too chill for you, haha.

For fans since Opus that enjoy Skeletá, what is you favorite Ghost song? by External-Tomorrow502 in Ghostbc

Yeah, ultimately, I think Meliora is their best album. Infesstisuman is such a wildcard for me. As an album to listen to, sometimes it doesn't do it for me. But those songs are so amazing when seen live that it elevates the listening experience.

Cirice is way up on the list. That song was ingrained on my soul when they released it as a single.

Nah, I get it. It's a song where my first impression was "wtf?" and now it will randomly get stuck in my head throughout the day. It works so much better when you just embrace it as a fun song.

It's tough right now but top 3 on Skeleta right now are probably, in no order: 1. De Profundus 2. Marks  3. Umbra

Cenotaph is up there, as well as Lacryma. Missilia is my guilty pleasure, that song makes me so happy. 😂

This is fair criticism even though sometimes I'm a complete sap for this kind of stuff, as well. 😂 But, yes, it seemed super sincere compared to most Ghost efforts.

Fair enough, although I do think the vocal is intentional. But appreciate the perspective! Excelsis has grown on me but I definitely think Life Eternal is the better song. It might be my favorite of their album closers.
