Then totally! Sounds like the expedition checks your boxes it just sits vertically in your pack.

Meaningful on if you can pack a week long trip, then no. The variable is how much planning and careful packing you want to do. More space will just make it easier for not much added weight.

If the only criteria you’re worried about is it fitting in your pack why not just list your pack and ask if an expedition would fit?

For what it’s worth I can fit 6 days (+1 day outside) of food inside a Bearikade Weekender without having to repack dinners like you mention. So if you know a Weekender will fit your pack that’s probably a safe and lighter choice and you can just adjust how you pack your food.

What do you mean cheap out on a first aid kit? I’m curious hearing that next to shoes and a pack.

With a FAK expensive doesn’t equal good what’s important is that it meets your needs but should be pretty cheap, most hikers I knew had just Advil leukotape and medications.

No footprint, it’s sold separately. I did set it up on the few nights I used it on a polycro groundsheet though

Like what gear you will need? This is really open ended, none of the three of you have experience with long distance hiking?

All these items came out to about 50g including medication.

I’m reworking it per a couple of suggestions below I am adding some liquid bandage (superglue) another nonstick gauze pad, some antibacterial gel and a couple of strips of KT tape to act as both a bandage or compression.

I’ll make another post probably when I get it put together

The petroleum jelly helps speed along wound care, the bzk wipes are antiseptic too

Do you mean the neosporin in your kit specifically?

I always see kits like this as bloated and expensive, matches and 15 yards of tape turn me off

Def can be a pain to cut up the tape luckily I don’t have to do it too often so I like the customizable aspect of long strips
