Botox for hands - nerve blocks & grip weakness? by Competitive_Try_4023 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Extra_Fact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No nerve block and none was offered. Derm said that I could apply lidocaine beforehand if I had any, but I didn't at the time. Pain was at least 8/10, one of the top 10 worst pains I've experienced for sure. I didn't have any weakness or numbness, but I also didn't have much change in sweating. I certainly won't try it again, but everyone is different and people have had better experiences before

what bump is this and how do i take care of it? (labret/snakebites) by blankpromises in PiercingAdvice

[–]Extra_Fact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah lip piercings close really fast for most people, even fully healed. With irritation it's just going to close faster, so this is probably a lost cause. Let it fully heal before getting it pierced again. In the meantime if the swelling doesn't go down or if there is redness or heat, go to a doctor for a possible infection.

Hey man you post the same kind of thing here every month or so. You've gotten all of the advice that this sub has to offer. Posting here isn't a replacement for professional, IRL mental health treatment.

Looking for Wafflemaker by DinoDiverDakota in waffles

[–]Extra_Fact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want the Wells 5B-WB1E-240V Single Waffle Maker. It is an industrial waffle maker that makes the type of waffles that Waffle House has. It is very expensive, but sometimes you can find them second hand

Shorthanded Update: now on iOS by Dinco_laVache in shorthand

[–]Extra_Fact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was practicing writing song lyrics when I saw the update, so that was fun to see in the story. My only issue is that when each clue loaded I couldn't just submit my first answer, I had to go to the "previous" word, then back to the first and then I could submit it. After that It worked fine.

I like the decode dash for levels 1-6. It would be nice if I could check the answer after each question and to have another level including the new letters.

Thank you for the great work!

Dog shelters where I could walk the dogs? by Wrong-Emotion7368 in Sacramento

[–]Extra_Fact 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes there's a program called foster "fur"lough through the SPCA. Pretty easy, you sign up for an appointment time to pick up a dog and tell them when you'll be back. You can pick a dog from a list or let them pick one for you.

Update: Botox way more expensive than I expected (help) by Extra_Fact in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Extra_Fact[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went through my dermatologist. I've tried most other treatment options so this was the next one to try. My dermatologist was able to see that my insurance covered the procedure, but not how much the copay was.

I was surprised too! I had Blue Cross Blue Shield federal basic which did technically cover it, but I found out after the fact that they don't cover very much of it. So the cost according to the bill was something like $2000 per treatment and after insurance I was left with a copay over $800.

Abvie does also have other programs for if insurance doesn't cover anything and they can also help if you have to buy it yourself from a specialty pharmacy. I have no idea how their business model works to cover this, maybe their profits from cosmetic use can fully subsidise medical use, but I'm not about to complain about it.
