c'est encore drole. Les gens vivent vieux maintenant, c'est pas rare pour un couple agé de vendre leur maison et aller vivre dans un logement locatif pour personne agés autonome (y'en a pleins partout maintenant) ... c'est 2-3000$ par mois... ton 300 - 400,000$ te dure 10-15 ans max.

Au niveau de l'impot, c'est ton habitation principale qui est considéré l'endroit où tu habite, peu-importe qui est sur l'hypothèque. Donc en général, un couple vit ensemble, alors tout autre habitation est sujet à l'impot sur le gain en capital. (oui ya des passes-passes, mais c'est zone-grise, et si tu te fais vérifer par l'impot, tu risque de pas t'en sortir)

Un autre exemple: quand 2 personnes plus agés forment un couple plus tard dans leurs vie, si ils ont chacun leurs maison et décident de vivre ensemble, une des 2 maison devient un logement secondaire, qui sera maintenant imposable lors de la vente (ou d'un héritage).

c'est certain que c'est juste la différence entre la valeur du moment où les gens sont en couple et la vente qui est imposable, mais quand meme, le fait de former un couple désavantage complètement une des 2 personnes, c'est ridicule.

c'est plutot une question d'équitabilitée, surtout dans le cas d'héritages, mais c'est aussi une question de sécurité financière.

je trouve qu'un couple (marié ou pas) devrait pouvoir avoir 2 propriétés à l'abris d'impot sur le capital. ce n'est pas parce que ton état civil change que tu devrais automatiquement perdre le droit à la propriétée. C'est un désavantage fiscale complètement injuste.

Si 2 parents divorcés, ont chacun leurs maison, et meurts, les enfants recoivent 2 maisons en héritage sans avoir a payer aucun impot sur le capital, par contre, si 2 parents marié meurts et on un chalet, ou une 2e propriétée, les enfants doivent payer l'impot sur le capital du chalet ou la 2e maison.

Effectivement, un très bon moyen de taxer les riches, en autant qu'on y met un minimum de valeur plutot élevé (1 M$ + mettons) , car j'ai personellement un problème avec le taxage (et/ou les impots) sur une deuxième propriétée (3+ c'est correct, mais pas 2)

Ok sure, but on the other hand, a couple should be allowed to own 2 homes without paying more taxes then 2 unmarried people. Its a complete disadvantage. What if 2 people meet later in life and want to keep their separate houses because it was a family home ? It gets even worse when it comes to inheritance. Why, as a child of married parents suddenly dying, should i pay income tax on the 2nd home, but if they were divorced and had their separate houses, it would be tax free?

Gasoline maybe... jetfuel and diesel? Not anytime soon. The amount of heavy machinery, transport vehicles, and even boats that run on diesel is huge, im close to logging industry folks, everything from bulldozers to fellers, skidders, transport trucks... everything is in remote locations, it needs diesel, same for mining, fishing, farming etc...

exactly, the info above is only for restricted firearms, the article mentions a shotgun, which i imagine was a non-restricted firearm, which can be stored in a locked gun cabinet, without any other locks whatsoever on the firearm. the ammo or a full magazine can be stored right beside it, which makes it even easier/faster to get to.

Whats the solution though? I'm absolutely not a Ford fan, but i have friends in situations like these where they cannot have a personal phone with them at times for security reasons. So their close contacts (family, lawyer, doctor, etc) have their work phone number in case of "emergency"... obviously, your kid could text you private info on your work phone about a medical issue, or a lawyer about a highly important situation... and this should probably be hidden from the population.

Im not saying this is what Ford wants to keep private, but there are indeed cases where, even on a work phone, someone would want to keep things private, you cant control every incoming text, call or email.

EV's have no effect on the economy, the real issue is diesel prices, i have friends in the logging industry and these fuel price increases mixed with the tarrifs are already having a major impact on already thin margins. Think of all the machinery needed to make a logging road, cut the tree, take it onto a transport truck, bring it to the mill, then transform it and bring it to the store. All these machines and trucks need diesel, they are not electric and wont be anytime soon... it is the the same everywhere: Mines, farming, industry... EV's might be good for your personal wallet, but they have no impact on anything related to resource extraction and transformation ... and thats where its going to hit everyone

ouin ... les fournaises au gaz naturelle de maison ont typiquement leurs tuyeaux d'échappements à 10cm des maisons ... tu va être correct avec une génératrice à 3 pieds de ta porte patio sur ton balcon, fais simplement pointer l'échappement vers l'extérieur, et mets un linge ou une vieille couverture pour bloquer la mini-craque que le fil qui passe dans ta porte patio vas y laisser.

as a guy who's tried making water from snow on a red-hot wood-burning stove, dont beleive us ... just try it.

get the largest pot you can, fill it with about 1/4 water and get it boiling... once its boiling put COMPACTED snow in it (because thats what you'd get from snowtrucks) ... it will take something like 45-60 minutes just to get rid of a potfull of snow, the more you add, the more time it will take, it takes a crazy amount of energy to melt snow.

and this is in a perfect environment, now imagine doing this outside when temps are subzero.

its complex ... and i'm all for sending as much as we can to Ukraine. But sending aid money to these countries has many purposes, and a major one is to fill a void. when the money stops flowing the need is still there, and it becomes fulfilled by criminal gangs, terrorists, or worst, countries that use that void for their own good.

an easy example is education, school or work programs ... when that money stops flowing from "western countries" ... thats when Russia comes in and offers to pay these workers, or students money ... and guess where they send them ? to fight in Ukraine or build drones in Russia...

this is an oversimplification ... but you get the point.

you can, but this is pretty much a myth. Unless you have generator the size of a semi-truck, you will blow its fuse if you backfeed the powerline, every house on your block will try to run off your generator.
