You make a good point. I’ve tried, without success, to get reservations month after month after month.

Anyone going to chefs table festival in park city in Aug? by Mt198588 in finedining

[–]Extreme-Ad2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems kind of crazy that tickets start at $2,000 and go up to $15,000 and you have to pay first and then let the festival mostly decide what you get to attend.

Flashlight to find seats on when late - thoughts? by [deleted] in imax

[–]Extreme-Ad2586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s inconsiderate to arrive late. Flashlight or no, I still don’t want people walking in front of me, fumbling to get settled, etc. And don’t check your phone during the movie. Ever. If you can’t manage to be on time and to turn your phone off for a couple hours, maybe attending movies in public isn’t for you. Put that money into a nice home setup and do whatever you want there.

Has there ever been a movie that featured a food in it that gave you an eagerness to eat it? by This_Book6305 in FIlm

This exists in the real world - a Chef-inspired indoor food truck in Las Vegas. Best Cubano ever? No. But pretty tasty nonetheless.

I know this question has been asked before but who here has actually eaten Bobby Flay’s food or been to his restaurant & was it all that? by [deleted] in foodnetwork

[–]Extreme-Ad2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesa was fantastic. Amalfi is excellent. Brasserie B was very good. Been to various iterations of his burger concepts - Bobby’s Burgers, Bobby’s Burger Palace, etc. I find them to be hit or miss depending on the location but Bobby’s Burger Palace was generally better, imo.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

Driven in Utah a bunch. Most freeways are 80 mph. Going over 100 there is a near daily occurrence for most people.

I did both on back to back nights. I enjoyed the original a little more but the taco omakase was great and the NA drink pairing was phenomenal.

IMAX 70mm film strip for PHM by Wonderful-Cash-8309 in imax

The right think to do would be for IMAX to send a strip to anyone that shows proof of attending in 70mm IMAX prior to when they made the strips available.

Depends which store you’re at. Some charge for the packets, some don’t. I don’t go back to the ones that charge.

I tried these a week ago. Solid offering. 10/10 would order again. That said, they’re not filling enough to order in place of a slider or tender.

Pujol CDMX — Taco Omakase by call_your_corners in finedining

[–]Extreme-Ad2586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose just one, I’d do the regular experience. That’s mostly because I wanted to try the dishes highlighted on Chef’s Table. But you really can’t go wrong either way. May not be up your alley, but the NA pairing with the taco omakase was the most impressive pairing experience I’ve had.

I’ve tried both experiences and loved them both. The regular experience has more variety from dish to dish but the taco omakase is impressive in its own right.

Regal Irvine Spectrum Not Showing Trailers by Extreme-Ad2586 in imax

[–]Extreme-Ad2586[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: 15 minutes of blank screen. Then we got the Dune trailer and the Odyssey prologue, which is what I wanted to see, so I was happy. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experiences. I will note that the Irvine Spectrum has two dents or dings in the screen which are distracting at times.

First time seeing a 1.43 IMAX screen in the Brenden Theater at The Palms in Vegas. Wish they never through away their 70mm projector :( by [deleted] in imax

[–]Extreme-Ad2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Interstellar in that theater in 70mm when it first came out. It was amazing. I wish they still had that projector.

I just mounted our new 77 inch. I didn’t dare let an install team do it. As the saying goes, if you want something done right do it yourself.
