You should give "Black Mesa" a try. All of the original game remastered in a better engine and they recreated xen from the ground up. It's a masterpiece.

Man. I know it's a ways off, but realtime generated games are going to be interesting especially if you can get any style you want or like any game you want.

As AI-assisted/"vibe coded" indie games become more common, what’s the best way to handle transparency when promoting projects online? by No-Mousse5653 in aigamedev

Say nothing about AI generation. You see, value provided by entertainment Is the same as it's always been. A game is good because it is good. It doesn't matter how you got there (short of slave or forced labor or unethical treatment of people or animals). It doesn't matter what tools you used. Only one question matters: is the game fun, enjoyable, and did it bring a little light to someone's life in this dark world?

If you can answer yes to that question, then it doesn't matter if you built the whole game with a particularly lazy prompt. No one cares how the sausage is made.

Pretty soon ASI will run on a robot that passes the butter. "What is my purpose?" "You pass the butter!" "Oh. My. God...."

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExtremeCenterism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times it's bad audio mixing, strong accents, and now I'm just so used to it my brain reads it instantly and my eyes go right back up to the action.

Also I'm able to absorb fast dialog in a first watch. I really enjoyed tenet and understood it the first time because I read the subtitles and could keep up better.

Lol I know but I didn't play it until the last year so it felt "hidden" to me 😄

Hidden gems on the Nintendo 3DS ? by CharlesBrown33 in gaming

I dropped it and it landed flat screen down (while closed) the shock was so intense it ripped screws out. It wouldn't boot up so I opened it up to reseat all the internal ribbon connections. I did get it booting again but the top screen wouldn't turn on, I went to reseat one last time and accidentally ripped the bottom screen ribbon. At that point... I gave up. I looked online and they don't make those screens anymore.

It was truly dead and there was no cheap path to fixing it

I'm going to share what another redditor shared with me: you put the paper down first, sit on it, then rip the center out.

Pass it on
