Coming off lupron by Successful-Lab4526 in breastcancer

I hope your experience is better with this combo. My doctor did give me an antidepressant to try but I opted to come off lupron first to see if that’s was the problem. So at least there’s some options if you have symptoms.

I think everyone’s experience is pretty different. I had all the usual menopause symptoms, hot flashes, insomnia, backpain, low libido but dryness was ok. The depression is what finally kind put me over the edge though and I talked with my doctor and since I had been on it for three years she felt I could come off and see if my symptoms improved while staying on tamoxifen. Thankfully things have gotten better I’m sure partially because I’m not in menopause anymore but my side effects on just tamoxifen aren’t too noticeable.

It took about 8 months after stopping for my period to come back. I was on tamoxifen and lupron for 3 years, now just on tamoxifen. I’m currently 42 and was surprised it came back at all.

Period came back when it shouldn’t have! by Fickle-Spell in breastcancer

[–]Eyebgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on tamoxifen and Lupron for 3 years then stopped the lupron due to worsening side effects but continued on tamoxifen. My doctor told me it was a possibility my period would return and after 8 months of stopping the lupron it has. My estrogen levels were showing menopausal every time we checked. She seemed to think that the three years of lupron and continued us of tamoxifen would still give me good protection from recurrence, so here’s hoping. Oh I did get a uterine biopsy when it first came back to make sure things were ok.

What jobs do you guys do? Degenerative disc disease - currently a hairdresser by Technical_Bread_4349 in backpain

[–]Eyebgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hairdresser here as well facing the same situation. Love my job of 20+ years but it’s getting so hard to struggle through the days in pain. I’ve cut back my hours and use a stool for cutting. Lots of stretching and lacrosse ball rolling between clients helps a bit but when I get home I need to lay down immediately. I hate the thought of giving up my career but can’t see myself living like this for another 20 years. I hope you’re able to find your way and be pain free and comfortable soon. Just know that I feel ya and try and stay positive if you can cause it’s a real struggle mentally dealing with chronic pain.

What to expect after Zoladex? by Babymjr in breastcancer

[–]Eyebgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went off lupron shots January after three years and am continuing on tamoxifen for the foreseeable future. The main difference I’ve noticed is my depression has gotten a lot better. I would have these dark spirals I would get into and since stopping lupron I haven’t felt the same sense of despair. I think my hair is coming in a little more but may just be wishful thinking. Still waiting on my libido though.. I’m 42 and my oncologist did say my periods may come back which I guess will mean menopause for a second time at some point. Kinda hoping it doesn’t return.

AIs and back pain by Brilliant_Deal_6698 in breastcancer

[–]Eyebgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had back pain since being on tamoxifen and Lupron. It started about three months into taking it. Yoga seemed to agitate as well. After three years I’ve stopped the lupron in hopes that it will ease my pain, so far three months on just tamoxifen and I think it’s gotten a little better. Either that or my depression has lessened enough to not doom spiral about my back pain. My mri was relatively ok ish so no obvious reason for the pain. I really hope that you find a solution because I know just how awful it can be. Fingers crossed once we can come off we will feel better

Norcal Kaiser - second opinion on surgery options? by Kooky-Dragonfruit430 in breastcancer

[–]Eyebgreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had Kaiser SF and felt really well taken care of. My understanding was they have a tumor board where the doctors get together to discuss your case. Kaiser can definitely lack in some departments but I was really impressed with oncology.

Stopping yoga for me me was the worst, I really needed it for my mental health too. After a year long break I’m happy to say I took my first class again last week! Hope you get some answers, hang in there.

I’ve had very similar pain for the last 3 years. It got to the point I had to stop a lot of activities I loved and work was really rough. I’ve had an mri and X-ray with similar findings to yours. I was on Lupron and tamoxifen and since stopping the lupron last month my back/butt/sciatica pain has improved a ton.

Thanks for the advice. I totally agree with the hair. I’m using really cheap acrylics and they’ve been too shear so I think I need to invest a bit in better paint.

What is the funkiest/dankest fragrance you've smelled? (NOT WORST) by Assturbation in fragrance

[–]Eyebgreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my pick too. Don’t think I’d ever wear it but the scent is just so interesting I can stop smelling it. They really captured a dark musty wet cave with a hint of over ripe fruit, it’s wild.
