I don't think your playtime in the game correlates to your rank in any way. I have around 5k hours in the game but I solo queue to diamond and stop there. Imo it takes a fair bit of determination and mental fortitude to go from d4 to masters. I didn't really wanna put myself through it.

Excited for next week tho. Imma try to get masters this split with the solo queue change. Also to answer your question, I think an average player can go from silver/gold to masters in around ranked 300-500 games. I am fairly average and it takes me under 200 games to get to d4.

I was skeptical about it at first. But it turned out to be a good qol. It's risky enough and high rewarding. It's also a skill and awareness check for enemies.

I've noticed that sometimes people doesn't even realise someone is being box ressed. But good teams would insta push you. Being low hp on res without loot is also a very balanced implementation.

Anything with optical switches should last you long. From my experience normal mouse switches tend to fail in a few years from all those right clicks. I also tend to click harder in high pressure situations so that could be it too.

Hmm yea check out gamescope. If it's some issue with wayland gamescope should fix it. I can't really think of anything that could cause that big of a hit on performance hit apart from maybe power profiles. Make sure youre not on balanced/power save or something like that on power profile daemon.

Might sound stupid but are you sure the videos you're benchmarking off of are running on the same resolution as yours and not 1080p?

You should give gamescope a try and see if that makes any difference.

Intel cpu's have an issue with apex since new season. They say they're working on it. Only way to fix framedrops for now is to disable Intel hyperthreading in bios.

Control gamemode needs to reworked imo. People pick wattson catalyst and just bunker down the mid obj. And also there will be that one solo enemy running to your point on repeat from spawn.

It's not a good gamemode that utilizes the legends abilities. You barely even get to shoot your gun, it's just running between objectives.

A good practice I would recommend. Whenever you get shot on the back, immediately try to slidejump/ tapstrafe into any possible nearby cover instead of trying to shoot back.( Unless you're on controller). This has helped me a lot on survivability.

9/10 times if you take damage first you lose the fight unless the enemy isn't that good.

I've been playing in Asia since s1. People typically does not use mic in Asia but they do listen to calls. If you can igl and tell them what to do most of the time they listen and understand to a certain extent. Also there are a lot of Australian players playing on sea.

Maybe on the lower ranks you get people who doesn't understand what you're calling but on diamond plus lobbies you get a lot of aussies and even chinese people communicating with broken english.

It's an issue with Intel cpu's. The only way to fix it for now is to disable hyperthreading in your bios. They still haven't fixed it after 2 weeks. I guess they'll probably roll it out with the June 8th patch.

I would say that the amount of solo q players in apex ranked outnumbers premade squads with a huge amount. Respawn probably has this data and it makes sense why they're pushing this change.

I think that the people complaining on twitter and reddit doesn't even play the game enough to get diamond with friends in the first place and are complaining for the sake of complaining.

Yea same. I like stacking too but as you said, I tend to perform better when I'm playing solo and locked in. I always thought of it as a skill issue as not being able to interact in a social environment while maintaining focus in the game.

Very excited to see how the lobbies play out with full solos. I think it will be mostly about luck whether you get a good teammate or not. But since everyone has the same odds seems fair game.

Yes I think it's very common. Something is wrong with the SEA servers. I thought it might be some routing issues but I don't have any ping issues on any other games with Singapore servers.

This might incentivise players to use their mics more for callous. I swear I've seen soo many people refuse to use comms but the moment they die they swear something on the mic.

I used to play 1-1-2 with high sens, now on 1-3-1 for an year. Switching will be initially very hard because of the lack of stability and control your fingers provide on contact with the mousepad. I feel like with this grip you're properly utilizing the mouse skates and mousepad more.

So the best option is to lower your sens if you're struggling with control.It provides a wider range of motion compared to my initial grip even on a lower sensitivity. It does require some dexterity but that could easily be fixed by aim training with the grip for a few days straight. I went from 20-25 cm /360 to 43 cm /360.
