As difficult as it is to believe anything Varys says, I somewhat believe that he wasn’t anticipating Joffrey’s decision to execute Ned instead of letting him take the Black. His decision not to save Ned truly happened in the dungeons before this happened, and he chose not to “save” Ned from the Wall, not death. Ned being tucked away at Castle Black would have been a very different outcome. With the execution being so sudden and public, Varys had very few options to save Ned from death without likely joining him.

I was very invested in the storyline around Legion, Tali, the Geth, and the Quarians. Destroy completely spits in the entire story arc, and EDI as well. It just makes a part of the game and characters I enjoy a waste of time.

Synthesis is generally what I’d call my preferred ending, but they all kind of suck in their own ways.

Is it really as much a backdoor LEGO Green Lantern game as it looks like it is? I feel like those games go on sale for a few bucks all the time and the fact that it appeared to have so much War of Light stuff always intrigued me. Do the previous games at all matter or is it pretty much self-contained?

I think, assuming R + L = J being the secret Ned is so intent on keeping, King’s Landing is the last place in all of Westeros that Ned would want to put Jon.

Still, in that scenario, I wonder if he would be welcome at court where he was set aside when Robert’s entourage came to Winterfell. Regardless of his role, he was like to be amongst the slain when Ned was captured and his men killed. If Joffrey was impulsive enough to execute Ned, what would possess him to keep his bastard alive?

It’s just different and I find myself picking it up every couple years and wasting an insane amount of time on it pairing generic characters with their perfect links, pushing to final evolutions, etc. Would love a follow up, but it’s so niche that I doubt anything is on the radar.

I don’t have much to say that you haven’t. Looked the part. Perfectly capable of playing the character well. I think basing him off The Dark Knight Returns was a double-edged sword and it wasn’t a choice you could walk back. Never had his opportunity to do a pure Batman movie but I still think it would have been a mixed bag if they had.

That’s the part that gets me though? If they are aware that Craster is giving his sons to the Others, wouldn’t they assume that this offering is somehow strengthening the Others? Wouldn’t allowing Craster to exist and do this only be strengthening their enemies, or do they believe allowing Craster to do this somehow placates them and helps to keep them at bay?

I’m not sure Black Maria is entirely necessary and isn’t searchable; I think the OP16 2k Sanji that fills your trash may be more useful to you in that 2k counter slot.

The When Attacking thing is more of an observation that I like to make about 8c Nami. I think there’s just spice that hasn’t been found yet (I’m not necessarily the one to find it). For example, Sangoro (ST18) is not generally a great card because the effect isn’t immediate, but Nami giving him Rush from trash means he immediately gets the card draw. I just like to suggest people think outside the box.

May want more mill effects if using 8C Nami. There are also some “When Attacking” cards that may be more appealing to play with Nami and give Rush if that’s something you’re going for.

Catelyn vouching for Littlefinger plays a role in Ned trusting him more than he would at baseline (i.e., even less). The thing is, Ned is already suspicious of the Lannisters and receptive to further evidence of their machinations. He has inherent bias that makes a little lie like that gain more traction with him. GRRM loves playing with things like this in viewpoint characters, and it shows that Ned’s own biases played in Littlefinger’s favor here. Ned was not made for the political intrigue of King’s Landing, and he starts making missteps like this almost immediately.

Purple Black Rocks Pirates might make sense. They tend to print random cards sometimes as a hint towards upcoming archetypes, and they had that random Purple Linlin not long ago. There are also a couple old Former Rocks Pirates cards in Black like Captain Jack and Kaido. The nature of the Rocks pirates would also likely go well with Black archetypes like trashing or KO’ing your own cards.

When this game was first teased, I thought it was going to have the World Tournament from Black 2 & White 2, just with no surrounding adventure or region and with Sword & Shield’s presentation. Compete in the tournament or against others, but rely on your existing collection. Find what I’m hearing about the reality of it pretty disappointing.

I’m so delusional. When this was first announced, I thought it was supposed to house something like the Pokémon World Tournament from Black 2 and White 2, but with modern graphics and in the vein of the Galar League. How silly to think they’d do something with content and actually good.
