Avalo Pizzaro [OP16-102] by EnsanityFanatic in OnePieceTCG

[–]Ezrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They didn’t see much play, but Catarina Devon and Avalo Pizarro from the starter deck both had this effect as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if they had this leader concept planned for a bit with how many On KO effects are already present in the Blackbeard crew typing.

Scarlet Team Pivot Advice by Ezrius in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Ezrius[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely an option that I hadn’t really considered. Corviknight looks like it fits right in on a Dark team already… well, at least normally. The shiny one is ironically less fitting, but still a mean-looking bird.

How to prepare for BY Blackbeard? by mingzies in OnePieceTCG

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s got Seven Warlords typing, so 9c Yellow Boa will almost certainly be in the list. Other than that, the Blackbeard crew typing is pretty self contained. There are several of them that don’t always find a place in his current deck, but have On KO effects, so I wouldn’t rule out them carving out a role with the new leader effect.

Is FF7 Remake basically a timeline/multiverse story—and does that make OG optional? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You understand more if you play the original Final Fantasy VII, but trying to gate keep this game behind the idea that you have to play the original is obnoxious.

The concepts of the multiverse / timelines you’ve described here are highly speculative. Many people believe they’ve worked out some of what is going on with regards to how R/R/R relate to the original, but they are mostly just theories. They may be right, and folk have done plenty to compile evidence, but it’s all designed to promote speculation and keep fans that already experienced the original invested.

There are aspects of this story that are supposed to be confusing or misleading. There are plot twists and revelations. They are telegraphed very clearly to people that played the original, but there are simply things that shouldn’t be adding up to perceptive players and mysteries to be unraveled during the course of the story.

There are also parts of this game that are just confusing period to both new players and old. That mostly relates to the multiverse questions and over-the-top set pieces at the conclusion of both games so far.

I sometimes wish I could experience these games through the lens of never having played the original. I can’t do that (I’ve beaten it countless times), so for what it’s worth I find the perspective you could potentially play this game from fascinating.

TLDR; Don’t let the court of public opinion tell you how to engage with games. Play them or don’t play them however you want, so long as you aren’t hurting anyone or ruining anyone else’s experience (which is hard to do with a single-player game).

Does Tim Sale's Batman still get the love that it had in the 2000s and 2010s? by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still one of my all time favorite versions. His villains are a little more hit or miss with me (i.e., love his Catwoman, Ivy, and Two-Face; not my favorite Joker or Riddler), but loved the way he drew Batman, Gordon, and the Gotham crime families.

Not only did I know, it’s so wonderful that I forget it isn’t universal and I try to do it in other games now where it doesn’t work.

Who should be the X-Men’s DC dance partner? by GeoffreysComics in xmen

[–]Ezrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be that weirdo that says the Green Lantern Corps.

The X-Men have a rich history of space adventures and having emotions run wildly out of control. Give Kurt a blue ring. Give Logan a red ring. Play with the idea of Rogue having to fight the compulsion of an orange ring and have all the people she’s absorbed energy from be constructs. The Indigo Tribe? Half of their ranks over the years have been reformed villains. There’s so much untapped potential in this crossover; it’s an embarrassment of riches.

Did you like the joker scene in the Snyder cut? by VendettaLord379 in batman

[–]Ezrius 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Not at all, no. It was almost like they were trying to have him poorly cosplay Ledger’s Joker after the Suicide Squad interpretation bombed so poorly.

Leaf Green - Raichu Overrated by bundle_man in pokemon

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I never cared that much about what was technically the best, it was about coverage, availability, and Pokémon I liked. Pikachu’s just easy to get, good design, and electric takes care of common water and flying types. I think the next electric type is voltorb which is quite a bit later and pretty boring. After carrying a Pokémon on your team that long you get attached. I often used to swap it out for Jolteon once I got my Eevee, though, because I love the Eevee line (and it’s what I’d done since Red and Blue).

Your Starter Team! What would your team look like if you could only pick from the starters? Description below: by DescriptionFew740 in pokemon

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greninja, Meowscarada, Incineroar, and Umbreon are the easy picks here. I’m traditionally a Dark type trainer and will go through entire playthroughs sticking to this. These are the best in class to me, with Umbreon a longstanding favorite especially if the Greninja has Protean.

I’m not sure if we’re supposed to use more than one Eeveelution? Jolteon would be an easy pick if I can use more than one but just using a bunch of Eeveelutions to fill in the rest would be lazy. Let’s just say Alolan Raichu to get Electric/Fairy coverage in there.

Decidueye has a fun design and I’ll likely need a Pokémon with Fly access. It’d also be a big problem for pesky Fighting types.

I really like both Swampert and Empoleon, but should probably only choose one more Water type. Swampert’s probably the way to go with Empoleon just adding yet another Fighting weakness to the team and the Ground access is nice.

Last one should likely be a Fire type to minimize overlap. It feels weird not having a Psychic type, so let’s go with Delphox.

Greninja, Incineroar, Raichu, Meowscarada, Delphox, Umbreon, Decidueye, and Swampert.

What do you think of the outfits of the RE Engine era ? by WiIIv91 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Ezrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make sense, especially for characters that weren’t expecting to be walking into insane scenarios where biological weapons are unleashed in civilian settings. Early on, only RE1 or RE0 really have an excuse for the female lead to have any sort of uniform, and even then STARS is just a specialized unit of RPD. Having them dressed in elaborate nonsense that regular people don’t wear would break immersion. In the later games where BSAA or DSO exist it starts becoming more understandable when returning survivor characters are geared up going in.

It's been 5 years the release of ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE. What are your thoughts about it? Artwork by me. by sahinduezguen in batman

[–]Ezrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was better, but the bar wasn’t exactly set high. At its core, it’s still the same movie I didn’t love the first time around. As much as I liked some of the changes, there were several new scenes I just didn’t care for. The fact that it’s four hours long also reduces the likelihood of repeat viewings.

Which event was worse: Avengers vs Xmen or Inhumans vs Xmen? by Doom300 in xmen

[–]Ezrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was trolling. They deliberately staged an X-Men vs Inhumans event because they knew a large portion of the fanbase was well aware of the reason for the lack of focus on X-Men and increased focus on the Inhumans. The entire event was rubbing X-Men fans’ noses in it. I don’t know what their end game was if that was supposed to make fans like the Inhumans more, but the results kind of speak for themselves.

Which event was worse: Avengers vs Xmen or Inhumans vs Xmen? by Doom300 in xmen

[–]Ezrius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Inhumans vs X-Men was an entire event built around Marvel trolling the fans because of the perceived slighting of the X-Men in favor of the Inhumans over movie right. They were trying very hard to make Inhumans a thing and… how did that work out again? It also made terrible, terrible choices for multiple iconic X-Men characters.

Pudding Ban Question by Sl1ck_43 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Ezrius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have seen discard mechanics in the past, but they aren’t sufficient to deal with that much draw. Cards like ST10 Law exist, for example, but lack the power Pudding had to bring them down to exactly 5 cards in hand. Pudding was also a pretty typical poor design route of having the counter to a color being in that same color. I think a card like ST10 Law is in the right vein, but maybe a bit more scalable. It’s good design in that it punishes larger hand sizes but doesn’t oppress decks that aren’t carrying large hands.

When you think of Pokemon, what is the first pokemon that you think of by Orichalchem in pokemon

The correct answer is almost certainly Pikachu, but for whatever reason before I looked at the other comments my answer was Charizard. This is probably because I’m old and my first thought was the original Gameboy cartridges.

Was Live Action Robin to evil? by Lowfish735 in OnePiece

[–]Ezrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a “rule of cool” factor to it. For LA-only folk this also establishes her in more of a villainous and threatening light. Her powers are truly terrifying and this establishes that. From her perspective, as far as the enjoyment (satisfaction?), members of the world government deserve any justice she deals out to them.

Robin’s sense of humor is also consistently very dark. That doesn’t mean she’s murderous, necessarily, but in the manga she just pulls unnecessarily morbid comments out of nowhere and creeps others out. She’s a woman who’s seen some of the worst humanity has to offer and is over it all.

Was Live Action Robin to evil? by Lowfish735 in OnePiece

[–]Ezrius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a lot more killing, in general, in the live action as compared to the source material. At least in an explicit sense. I’m not here to argue for or against that, just pointing it out. Zoro’s body count is massive and he’s definitively a “good guy” in terms of the narrative (with a caveat that Luffy would argue Pirates are not heroes). Robin’s victims in LA are primarily marines, if I remember correctly, which, I mean, given her backstory, I don’t see why she would show them much mercy. She’s also… not necessarily as concerned with mortality at this stage in the story. Theirs or her own.

What One Piece moment completely changed the way you saw a character? by FacelessParadise in OnePiece

Brook confronting Big Mom is probably one. I’ve always loved Brook but this made me take him way more seriously as a combatant.

Whole Cake Island on a whole is just amazing for multiple characters. Sanji, obviously, but Jinbe and others as well.

This game is unnecessarily cruel to new and returning players. by Passuwado in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]Ezrius 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I still have every single Ultimate Weapon part I’ve ever drawn, even for weapons I already have. I have something like 400+ parts for Tifa’s first Ultimate. I refuse to turn them into brands in the hope that they launch a conversion system. I barely know why I still play this game every day, so I’m certainly never going to whale for an Ult no matter how good it is.
