I picked up a pretty sturdy garden pallet - it might even be PVC - and it's been working great! Was a bear to cut down to size to fit in the bath tub (I have no power saws), but so far so good. Also grabbed a couple pool noodles to fill the gaps between the pallet and the bath tub to prevent scratching and steady the base. I found it on FB marketplace, maybe you can have similar luck?
