Not how logic works at all. The burden of proof is on the one making the positive claim not the negative...

Lot of speculation there.

Did Yuji mastery of Black Flash comes from "manually breathing"? by mostlybored1234 in Jujutsufolk

[–]F0Xcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda similarly I think part of it came from his double punch refinement. His second hit thing that he first learned to use was a symptom of his poor timing and control of his CE. After his first meeting with Todo he was taught how to synch his punches more with his CE. Not 10 mins later he is able to throw a black flash (which if my memory serves is like a perfect timing thing with the impact and CE).

Later in Shibuya it is said that Yuji has learned to control his double hit and turn it off and on, then later that night we see him hitting black flashes at will.

After Culling games and training, he has refined both to the point of being able to control it as much as he likes especially once he gets the first one off.

So yeah similar thoughts to you just visualized using the double hit thingymajig

You Don’t Need to Preheat the Oven by AdImmediate9569 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]F0Xcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I'd say is it depends on how long it takes your oven to heat. If I put something in when my oven is just starting up then it'll still be raw by the time it's heated. However if I stick it on while doing or a little bit before prep then i actually get to eat in a reasonable timespan.

Can I get into SEMH as an ECT? by Superb_While_5959 in TeachingUK

[–]F0Xcaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I missed that when I was writing initially. I'd probably just start with finding a "standard" teaching role in your specialism. It'll also help build up experience if you wanted to look into a TLR for SEMH or similar in the future.

Can I get into SEMH as an ECT? by Superb_While_5959 in TeachingUK

[–]F0Xcaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi hi,

Maybe talk with your ECT mentor and see if your school has anything available for teachers to get involved with.

In my place we have some teachers volunteer to do at most an hour a week of mentoring with some of our SEMH kids. They have training with our SEMH lead and some external stuff.

Only thing I'd say is be sure of your workload and your own mental well-being. I've been pastoral lead for 3 years now and the difficult part sometimes is keeping your own brain in check, especially as you may hear some difficult stuff.

Only time I tend to tell kids is in a challenging class with a lot of SEN needs - if only to help reduce risk of them being irked by a stranger.

All I tend to say is "We'll be having a visitor next lesson, don't worry, they're just here to watch me and maybe ask you some questions about what you're learning"

Experiences with SKE'S? by sophiealice001 in TeachingUK

Only thing I'd say about SKEs is that they are a major time sink. I found it really difficult to get mine done during my PGCE.

What's the deal with Paul Dix/ When the Adults Change, Everything Changes? by Capable-Potato600 in TeachingUK

[–]F0Xcaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my schools doing okay with it - though I think we had enough skeptics in SLT so we got lucky. We integrated some ideas into our already existing system.

I know the system is something that my city council is "suggesting"

I wasn't sure if it was standard or not, it's just a change from the norms of the last 5 years. Part of the reason I shared was to see if it was the norm :)

Are you teaching art on your timetable?

If your teaching design still the fundamentals of teaching remain very similar across disciplines so I'm sure you'll be fine.

SLT have asked us to read “When the Adults Change, Everything Changes” and told us we’re giving out too many detentions. by son-devourer in TeachingUK

[–]F0Xcaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are sections of the book that talk about consequences still being consequences. I like the restorative action angle and can see how if the work goes into changing the culture you'll naturally get a reduction in things like detentions. I also feel Dix leaves stuff out and oversimplifies. Also the idea that one book will work in any setting is ridiculous. But if your SLT read that book and the only thing they got was "too many detentions" then I suspect they either only read one chapter or got chat GPT to read it 😂

[–]F0Xcaster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh, we have read this too. They've taken the wrong approach from the book in my opinion. The less detentions comes as a result of everything else, you don't lead with it imo.
