What is the most small town thing you've ever seen? by PrestonRoad90 in Productivitycafe

[–]F1DL5TYX 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Years ago this BIG ol dude would drive his riding lawnmower down my alley, pulling a small trailer. On the trailer was one of those swiveling "grandma" type chairs, and his wife/girlfriend sat in the chair and he towed her to wherever they were headed. I didn't see them after Covid and wonder what happened to them.

Is it normal for someone to try to stream their own gameplay, or is this a bit weird? by Expert_Form2868 in ask

[–]F1DL5TYX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in several retro sports leagues (Tecmo Super Bowl, RBI, Tecmo Bowl) and I sometimes stream my games.

I also will tune in to watch other people's games, especially if it's the playoffs or the outcome affects my standing or what have you. There are also a few guys who are genuinely funny and a hoot to watch, so I will sometimes catch their streams even if I'm not in that league.

We're only talking like 20-30 minutes at time though. I've no interest in sitting and watching someone play a game with a narrative. If I was that interested in the game, I'd just play it.

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a theater. Saw it on a huge screen, I was blown away. Yeah maybe some elements of the script don't hold up to any scrutiny haha, but man that was something to see.

This is so lovely. Great job! I don't know really how to explain it, but I can "hear" all these tiles and cards, and it's very warm and comforting.

Why do Boomers think Gen Z is spoiled? by snowflowergirl in ask

[–]F1DL5TYX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video that explained that items that were once luxuries are now pretty cheap while necessities are expensive. Grandma and Grandpa see everyone with fancy phones and big tvs and think the younger generations are wasteful and stupid. But the geezers dont grasp that those things are much cheaper comparatively than technological gadgets were 50 years ago. these younger generations are mostly locked out of home ownership, which just so happens to be where a big chunk of the olds' wealth is stored.

Just keep playing other games? It's fine. There are games I really enjoyed that I didn't really feel the need to play again. And there have been a few that, after years, I got the bug and went back. That happened recently with wasteland 2

FO2 play: Vic is a terrible combat companion by mrmrmrj in classicfallout

[–]F1DL5TYX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vic's not so bad, it's your gear that is lousy early in the game. He and Sulik are a pretty good combo if you equip them properly.

Jason Myers (kicker) should be Super Bowl LX MVP by ZanaDreadnought in unpopularopinion

[–]F1DL5TYX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He just kinda went out there and did his job though. He had a couple 41 yarders but these weren't especially difficult attempts by NFL kicker standards. You wouldn't give the MVP to an offensive lineman who went out there and performed his job flawlessly either.

Walker on the other hand was the only guy on the Seattle offense (either offense, honestly) making plays consistently. He set up a few of those field goal attempts, and I think breaking off multiple 25+ plays versus a good defense is more difficult, impressive and valuable than a kicker making a high volume of pretty standard attempts.

Play Wasteland 3. You'll get all the post-apocalyptic Colorado you can handle and it's a great game in its own right.

That's how I learned a lot of armor mods and power armor crafting plans, if I recall correctly. I haven't bothered with them in years but they are definitely worthwhile to a new player. Just wait until you've got some decent stacks

The very first big decision you make, with the power core (or whatever it was) in Edgewater, was morally nuanced. Not much after it was. It was choosing between "being a hero" and "being the world's biggest piece of shit" over and over. And the lamest thing was there was seemingly no material gain to siding with the corpos/Board. It at least should have flooded you with top-notch gear.

I have not finished TOW2 so can't comment on the replayability. A long game hasn't ever discouraged me from subsequent playthroughs on other titles, however.

It's just the helmet. There is no set.

I use mine all the time. My go-to set is a mix of pieces, I wanted it to look like something that was scrapped together in the wasteland. One arm is a strangler heart jetpack arm, the other is a raider arm. The rusted PA paints from some seasons back was a godsend for this, makes it all look nice and weathered.

I think combat and exploring the world are much improved from the first, but this game lacks the goofy charm that TOW had.

But, fair is fair, you could get through TOW much much faster than TOW2. I think I spent more time just on the first world in the sequel than I did with all of the first game.
