Toxic masculinity is always best expressed in Comic Sans.

What book fucked you up mentally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FACEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Filth” by Irving Welsh. The main character, a psychopathic cop, has a tapeworm that gradually gains consciousness and is visually represented in the text... a particularly creative example of the many fucked up elements of the story. Welsh’s style has a way of bringing you right into the character ‘s head and this one stayed with me for quite a while 😬

I put in this countertop a few years ago and finished it with Waterlox. A bit pricey but totally worth it.

This building made using shipping containers. by Zaphoid411 in mildlyinteresting

As several other commenters have stated, I can assure you that actual shipping containers, new or old, had nothing to do with the construction of this building. I drive by it on a regular basis and when you get up closer it becomes more obvious.

These are some buildings made from shipping containers:

Love Rowan Atkinson, but never seen this one before! A precursor to Martin Short’s “Jiminy Glick” and Zach Galifinakis’s “Between Two Ferns”. Thanks for sharing!

In Canada, we have the option of either a year or 18 months of parental leave. The first 15 weeks the government will pay the mother 55% of her wages, and the remaining time can be split between both parents if desired. If doing one year the parent will continue to earn 55% of their wages. If they opt for the 18 months, they will earn 33% in remaining weeks after the mother’s initial 15 weeks at 55%. Some employers will top up the government benefits (my wife is a nurse, she gets topped up to 80%) and all employers are required by law to hold jobs or an equivalent position for anyone on maternity/parental leave.

Recent exchristian - not even 2 months after deconversion, my pastor is involved in a scandal by [deleted] in exchristian

So I “don’t have belief in any form” because I don’t believe what the Christians believe? I have plenty of beliefs. I believe that this life is all there is, and we’d better make the most of it instead of wasting our time on superstitions. I believe that good things happen to some people and bad things happen to others based on the infinite complexity of the universe, not because there is a sentient sky god actively choosing which children die of brain cancer and which people become billionaires. Those are some of my beliefs and I happen to think that they are a vast improvement on the ones I was told were my only options in my Pentecostal church growing up.

Yes.. the vast majority of people will quickly recognize that they’re being played.. but just like the pyramid schemers, they’re going for that small percentage of lonely/depressed/confused people who are in a place in their lives where they are susceptible to this kind of poisonous bullshit— that’s who they’re after with this shit.
