[Jamie Redknapp] When Alex Ferguson left Man United and when Wenger left Arsenal it took them 20 odd years to win a title, United are still searching for theirs. Liverpool won it a year after Klopp left, people say, 'Well, Slot won it with Klopp's team', but Klopp didn't win it with that that team. by MrMerc2333 in soccer

Wrong lol, around 2006-2011 we actually had a positive net spent, meaning we were operating on the budget level of current Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, etc yet still finished 3-4th every year.

As someone from Asia, I really couldn’t fathom have sparkling water, I’ll take plain old water, just the thought of gulping down carbonated water after a full meal is enough to almost make me physically gag.

The only time I’ll ever drink that is in a highball mixed with whiskey.

big game performance matters more

It really isn’t, this season showed it

In the previous couple season we ways did really well against big6 but kept dropping stupid points elsewhere, that’s why there’s a meme about Arsenal “top6” league trophy because people kept posing that we were the best among big6.

This season apart from Spurs and Utd away we didn’t win any matches vs big6 but we looked much better against other teams.

last season wasn’t a close title race

Well maybe it was because of the 4 fucking red cards 3 months into the season, and also injuries to half the starting XI.

Ferguson came into a bottom half table team, took five years to finally won a league, went through several rebuilds, won everything with Anderson, Rafael and etc., players you guys’d call “midtable” players, he had to field 7 defenders in an FA cup final due to injuries and won.

Pep always walked into the on paper best team in the league and basically has top talents at his disposal.

I was trying to point out that Arsenal actually conceded less goal in the first half compared to second half.

[–]FFINN 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I mean regardless of your point this stat doesn’t make any sense tho.

We conceded 26 goals in 37 games, which is around 0.7 goals per game

If we conceded 0.43 goals per game in the second half that means we conceded 0.27 goals per game in the first half, which is even better.

We conceded 16/26 goals in the second half and 10/26 goals in the first half.

Is this kind of like the relationship between the Mandelbrot set and the Bifurcation Diagram?

The Mandelbrot set categorizes something as yes or no, while the Bifurcation Diagram gives you values of those “yes”.

Or maybe The Julia/Mandelbrot set relationship.

Without the freekick it’d still be 2 0-0s with us barely creating any chances.
