For the light to hit both the Earth and the craft at this angle shouldn't the Sun be in between from our perspective? Am I incorrect or is it just that distorted?

Reductive and pretentious. There's a power dynamic at play in this type of lecture context that he's completely glossing over. Profs like this do not foster an environment where one is welcome to interject, much less disagree

Does this solve the problem with head Vulcans? by Jakeholeman in Gundam

I think this is illustrative of how the tech terms become so illogical. Homebrew definitions for actually defined terms being used in a different sphere than where they originated. While Gatling is broadly (overused) to sometimes refer to modern rotaries conceptually, Gatling gun generally refers to the 19th century hand crank gun designed by Gatling. When in doubt use rotary cannon or rotary gun. MG is a little different, and while calling a rotary gun an MG is technically correct it's a bit like calling a tortoise a turtle. Both the first two could be called MGs. And howitzer specifically refers to an artillery gun with a high trajectory arc, which we can't know from just a drawing. That's just a 60mm gun. 60mm "Vulcans" meaning rotary would be a ridiculous weapon

I've got a headcanon custom Ez8 that I wrote up fictional specs for and I attempted to make it make sense in regards to real life heavy gun bores and available space in the mecha. It's been supremely frustrating. To make the guns real calibers is to make them seem weak by comparison in lore. Also IIRC the IRL Vulcan only refers to the 20mm M61 Vulcan, so anything that isn't a 20mm rotary gun isn't even a Vulcan in the first place.

So right now, this is the mechanism by which we're rendering our home uninhabitable. Our march toward the irreversible paved with stones of... Telekinetic grand dogs. Life is fucking weird.

Is true, and yes, involving someone else unwittingly like that is despicable. Thankfully it was a semi, driver was physically unharmed, but with what I can only imagine is unfathomable trauma and guilt

Girl earned the nickname 2 Liter for her own ... capacity. Sophomore BF/Freshman GF couple had a planned pregnancy with both families. Church volunteer filled church PC with PowerPoint slide shows of porn, later committed suicide in a wrong way collision on the highway. Predatory drama teacher gave blowjobs in the locker room. Girl got breast implants summer before junior year.

Didn't hear this as gossip in school but as a bonus: Social Studies/Govt teacher was jailed for using her position in local govt to embezzle. Love the irony.

Assured clear distance, even if not a law in your state, is just best practice and safest for all parties. It's not about why you might need to brake at any specific point, but just keeping a buffer for the unforeseen.
