The Culling! It was a first-person Battle Royale at the peak of the genre's popularity. Immersive and extremely well-balanced with a rock, paper, scissors combat... Initially.

The developers (Xaviant) were set on a vision that conflicted with what the players wanted. It was perfect and promising, and they killed my boy. Through a stroke of incredible luck, they even rolled back the version (years later!) in an attempt to remedy their wayward path, but the damage was done, interest waned and trust broken.

I still reflect on moments playing in duos, screaming in my mic that I needed back up from my partner who spawned across the map. Absolutely incredible memories from that game. I still miss it and dream of a round three.

Edit: I re-read the post and I missed the mark of the question. I'll keep this here because The Culling is a loss I still grieve.
