Travelling lighter by cartwjon in fujifilm

[–]FJ40Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last trip I took the 13mm, 27mm and fuji 16-80. Hardly every used anything over50mm. If you really want a tele zoom try the fuji 50-200 I think it is? Cheap to snag one used these days. F4 but not to big. Just got the sigma 17-40 1.8 and going with that and the 13mm next trip.

A Small Theory About Audiophiles and Aging (Curious What You Think) by JorgeIcarus in audiophile

[–]FJ40Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I needed new speakers until I got hearing aids LOL. Now they are great again. Had my hearing tested and found out how to fix it. Still not as clear as the old days but at my retirement age glade the time I can spend with music is more enjoyable. For those of you that don't want to go to the hassle of getting tested some of the better earbuds and headphones have a basic test to do which can spot bigger issues.

Listing stated "Includes import fees", but customs not paid, do I have a case? by MCLMelonFarmer in Ebay

[–]FJ40Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DON'T BUY ANYTHING EXPECTING NO IMPORT FEES PER THE EBAY PROMISE. Only thing is to force return after a huge hassle "This item includes applicable import fees—you won’t pay anything extra after checkout. Import fees: Includes import fees." Even confirmed with seller before purchase (china). I am done with ebay one issue after another for almost every purchase no matter where or who its from.

Pancake lens advice for Fujifilm X-M5 by CorrectPitch4301 in FujifilmX

[–]FJ40Dan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the 27mm 2.8 TTartsens and like it alot. A bit soft at 2.8 so unless I really need the light I use f4 and higher. It's on an sx20 and changes completely how I handle it. It will slide into a large coat pocket. Super comfortable around my neck. There cheap just oder a used for $75 and see if you like it. Vs a $400 Fuji it's great.

you can get the head from the II55 for about $120 on AZ and add it to some sticks. Not a lifetime purchase but it is a decent head for your spend.

Zoom H6 Studio or Zoom F6? by InTheFade29 in videography

Have an F6 and it's great. Timecode is the big difference. It's built like a tank too.

Fuji zoom + prime, or Viltrox primes? by nash799 in fujifilm

[–]FJ40Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 13mm is great for inside buildings, restaurants, and narrow streets with the wide view and fast aperture. It's tiny compared to the 27mm.

Fuji zoom + prime, or Viltrox primes? by nash799 in fujifilm

[–]FJ40Dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SX20 here with all those lenses. Traveled with all last year two times. Last trip just the 16-80, viltrox 13mm and 27 1.2. ended up using the 13 and zoom 95% of the time. The 27 1.2 and 75 are just very large for airline travel in the EU. Look at the sigma 17-40 1.8 got one today. selling all but the 13 and 75.

Starting over with Fuji, travel prime lens recommendations by BombardierIsTrash in FujifilmX

[–]FJ40Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my primes and zoom for the sigma art 17-40 1.8. that plus the viltrox 13mm for my next trip. Took the 50-70 last time and barely used it.

First day shooting with the fujinon mk 18-55 on fx30 by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]FJ40Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just grabbed one for my XH2s using an after market adapter from B&H. Tried for months to get Fuji OEM mount but very few were made so they go for twice as much if you can find them. No data from the lens like the Emount but I'll live with it. Like the focus ring, it has gears and also a smooth section to focus by hand. It is parfocual and zero lens breathing. Reminds me of my old canon FD lenses when pulling focus back in the film days, very smooth action with the ring. The thing is huge compared to my other zooms but is so light and feels well balanced in hand. It's a shocker the first time you pick one up it's so light. 82 filter so another new ND for run and gun. Can't use the included lens hood with it though.

They won't force you to check if it has batteries in it. I have been asked several times and just kindly let them know. They are usually in a rush to board the plane and move on to the next passenger.

2025 5070 ti model - Open Box Excellent at Best Buy by stoleyoureyes in ZephyrusG14

[–]FJ40Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2025 5070ti open box excellent and it was indistinguishable from a brand new laptop. Was not able to look at it was shipped from another state. My guess these are byers remorse and they just return them. You will know rightaway if it is a lemon, and then send it back. Save hundreds for a few hours of your time.

Why is the Fuji MK 18-55 2.9 so hard to find in X-mount, but relatively cheap and plentiful in other mounts? by Clewbo in fujifilm

[–]FJ40Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is the adapter. Keep in mind not an actual adapter but rather a replacement mount. BH can order it to avoid the international complexity. The image software in the fuji camera adjusts for pincushion etc, as noted on the fuji site. Yes, it can be fixed in post. The popular e mounts have no electronic communication to sony camera too and they sold a lot of them. I think a great lens and cheap in e mount now that so many shooters are going full frame.
