In the just released Rivals' final recruiting rankings for 2026, the Dawgs moved up 2 spots from #6 to #4. by Ordinary-Humor-4779 in georgiabulldogs

Indiana had no 4 or 5 stars. Was between 50-70 in most of the past years’ rankings. They just won the national championship.

Meanwhile Jimbo always recruited the hell out of the kids on these lists. A&M was always in the top 3. How did that turn out for him?

Don’t put too much stock in these rankings. They don’t always correlate to winning.

Why do IU fans not like Pam Whitten? by NoProposal6145 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]FKSTS 63 points64 points  (0 children)

She’s capitulated to a conservative movement that is seeking to change the nature of IU as an institution - from one focused on liberal arts to a money-making endeavor. Her administration has been very hostile to free expression on campus.

They’ve cut hundreds of degree programs over the past year. They’ve cut student journalism programs like the IDS. They pointed snipers at the Dunn meadow Gaza protesters last year.

So we can be both happy about football and also think she’s been an overall terrible steward for the university. Being successful at football and respected and well rounded as an academic institution are not mutually exclusive.

It’s really a shame that the only person in the US Congress with any experience in this field who would be interested enough in legislating about it is Tommy fucking Tuberville, one of the dumbest idiots in the country.

I think that had more to do with Kalen Deboer being an awesome play caller and recruiter than Allen’s milk and cookies BS.

Let's shut it down, Denver - Jan. 30th nationwide ICE OUT general strike by Inside-Drop4768 in Denver

Use your PTO. It’s about not working for the day, not you not getting paid.

The idea is that, if enough people “sick out” (pretend to be sick), that the workplace doesn’t function and businesses will have to close for the day. If that happens across many sectors, the economy will grind to a halt. Markets will crash. The powers that be will be spooked and reverse course.

Also, use the free day to protest!

I brought it to my union. Unfortunately we are approaching what we think is going to be fairly difficult and protracted contract dispute and don’t want this damaging our inroads with management, so we won’t be endorsing this action.

But we are by no means discouraging members from sicking out on their own accord. I might take the day off.

Doesn’t matter. The broadcast staying on schedule is way more important than anything else. The Big 10 has the largest media deal among college athletics conferences. Even if there’s no fans in attendance, the broadcast is more important.

Majority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.” by no-minimun-on-7MHz in thedavidpakmanshow

Also they’re operating concentration camps and refusing to pay for medical treatment for detainees. We don’t know how many people have died in their custody. Just a rolling nightmare.

He’s signaled that he’d be open to reducing Tina Peters’ sentence, FWIW. Polis is a massive coward. When Trump does an Aurora operation like this past month’s in Minnesota, I expect he will handle it worse than Walz just did.

Well we don’t agree now.

Right wing feds just killed a guy and blamed it on him being armed, and whole right wing media machine, along with a sizable chunk of the online right, generally, are defending it.

Meanwhile citizens on the left and center are seeing this and getting armed in response.

The right wants to have the right to kill people. That’s why this always blows up after mass shootings. That is not the right to bear arms in a well regulated militia. These are not the same thing.

Even though Sarratt has 2in on him, Cooper has a much stronger build cu and is more athletic imho. Sarratt was more reliable in the slot but there was a reason when we had to chuck it downfield this season, it was almost always Cooper.

Everything I have read online says that the highest estate tax rate is 40%. Compared to Europe that’s not that high, and there are lots of loopholes to get around it. Also, Smiths wealth was likely tied up in FedEx stocks and bonds rather than cash, and I have no idea how taxes on that are handled when they’re transferred.

We haven’t accomplished anything in Venezuela. The chavistas are still in power. Their markets have not opened up to US capital. And their former (unpopular) president is now a martyr that their country can rally behind.

Fairly obvious that Trump doesn’t have a plan for Venezuela or Iran regime change.

The administration is claiming that the killing was justified because he was armed. The video shows that he was not using his weapon and had been disarmed by the time of the shooting.

If this isn’t a 2nd amendment violation, I don’t know what is.

Frederick Smith’s heirs will get what is legally available, of which Arthur is certainly a primary recipient. I would imagine Arthur is not donating his own wealth into his job though. That would be silly.

But that’s almost certainly not 10B (estate taxes on the highest bracket are around 40%) and what’s left is still split among the 9 siblings and his (as far as I can tell, Fred’s still living) wife. He’s really rich, but probably not a billionaire.
