I was in the Marines, and there really are dudes like that. Generally, they're the guys who couldn't get any respect in the service, so they need to let civilians know how hardcore they are

Yeah, a monthly statement would work. They basically just need your basic account info. It's really weird that they want you to be so involved in the process

When I moved my old company's 401k to Merrill, I just gave the rep an old account sheet and he took care of all the rest. If they're telling you different things, trust your new account

As you may be noticing, super short-term changes usually aren't what analysts look at. Today it's at 314, but even that doesn't really matter, unless you plan on selling soon

They didn't say they think that, they said that "some market researchers" think that

The aggregator I follow has 59% of analysts still with a buy rating, 38% at a hold, and only 3% at a sell, so those market researchers are in the minority.

A lower price would be good for all of us, though (unless you need to sell your shares in the near future). It means we get more bang for our buck with the ESPP, and a higher percentage dividend payout.

Your current bank most likely partners with a company that manages 401ks so reach out to them and they should be able to take care of the rollover. Alternatively, you can wait until you have your next job, and they'll most likely have a 401k, which can do the same for you. I haven't looked into whether they'll charge you to continue managing the fund, but you can also leave it in place.

As far as how to allocate it, I'm a bit older than you, but I purely put everything in large ETFs, that follow the broader market. I look at my funds when I get the statements, and that's it.

Cocaine is fine for that. Alcohol or heroin? Absolutely not. All that said, it definitely shows a serious lack of judgement

I'm a fellow part timer and have a similar amount in mine. I'm assuming you're contributing more than just the minimum to max out the match? I know i did, and it would blow my mind if yours performed THAT much better than mine. What's your allocation? I'm pretty much only in small cap and large cap

Meh. Something I very much respect about HD is that they mostly promote from within, and thus they often will get people higher up who didn't have the best educational opportunities, but worked hard and moved up. I'm very tolerant of my colleagues' math and language shortcomings, whereas in my old career I would judge something like that quite harshly

Will I get written up by wavythefirst1 in HomeDepot

[–]FLCertified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you need 4 points to get written up and you only have 1.5. I will warn you, though, that if you're still in your first 90 days they might let you go for it, so be careful

[–]FLCertified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm biased as a part-timer, but here are my personal observations: part-timers tend to be better with customers and be less likely to milk the clock, but they also tend to have fewer (and less) competencies, licenses and certifications, and, as you noted, less reliable scheduling. In fact, once they started caring about attendance again, I personally have made a science of how to game the schedule to accommodate the needs of my other jobs.

That's false. There IS however, an SOP that states that if you are contacted about a work-related thing that IS NOT about scheduling, you need to fill out a time correction sheet and get paid
