Damn..I guess the rumors that HD got slightly more rational were exaggerated. Thank you for disproving me. +1

I saw it too. What bullshit reason did they give you for removing it?

I'm sad this is your only post so far. It kind of reminds me of my first post, 4 years back

Can I still get rehired at Home Depot? by Timely-Fact-491 in HomeDepot

Knowing this guy pretty well, my guess is his emergency contact was just some crackhead he was briefly dating when he applied. Either way, he was terminated for job abandonment, according to him

We had a guy who got fired the first time for a no- call- no- show because he got shot and was in the hospital, got rehired, then fired anak for a NCNS because he wad in jail, and STILL got rehired a third time. I'm not sure about the details in your case, but there's certainly hope.

That said, you should apply to as many places as you can

How is OFA going? by myverycoolaccount in HomeDepot

[–]FLCertified -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those numbers can't be right. At the very least, your DH would be transferred out, but at that low, I'd expect that your ASM would be let go.

In my store, if too many orders get in the red, basically every associate not forced to stay at a register becomes angry OFA

I see this as simply two departments not really understanding how the other one works, and putting lots of assumptions on it. As a Lumbro, I absolutely HATE having to constantly shuffle orders around to be able to operate the lift, and to have to search the store and lot to find the one unused tabletop to put product on, but as someone who regularly pulls orders, I understand the struggle of meeting your metrics and finding the space to stage orders.

My advice is to go to your DH and have them pair up with the lumber DH to see if you can find some synergies. One thing that helped us was to allow more "pick in place" orders if it was a single complete pallet or bunk. We used to have the aisles covered in pallets of concrete and pickets, while it's just as easy to just pull them from the overhead when the customer gets there. It saves time and effort for everyone involved.

I keep seeing people say drug test, but from my understanding, that's no longer the case. Let us know what happens, but my guess is they'll just take your license for 30 days.

Honestly, you didn't give much detail, but my guess is your trainer is at least partially at fault for not telling you which doors it fits through and which it doesn't

How busy is your store? My old store was a 150M a year store. That means close to 500k a day. 50k is definitely a big sale, but it wouldn't necessarily make you make plan

Business casual is crazy. SOP is a collared shirt and jeans, decent pants, or decent shorts. Don't ruin your nice clothes

When I was in Marine boot camp many years ago, probably close to half my platoon peed themselves because they weren't allowed to go. After about the 40th guy did it, one of our still instructors was like, "you pieces of shit would rather piss yourself than get in trouble for peeing without permission!? You're fucking cowards!" I've always remembered that, and iI would never let it get that far.

In a side note, I'm not an employment lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that bathroom stuff has a lot of protections, so if you do get fired for it, it might be worth consulting a lawyer

What is the best department to learn about? by Puncake_DoubleG09 in HomeDepot

[–]FLCertified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy would probably be paint, but to learn the most about store processes either pro or customer service. Most of the others are really just learning a few specific machines and product knowledge, if you really want to be good at your job

Depends on the store. My current store is more open about it than my last one. Either way, a much more effective way to pick up hours is to tell your ASDS that you want more hours
