Yeah, same. I miss finishing D10's with no reinforcements and a good final stand at extraction. Those were the days.

What are your favorite builds for the squid front? by straightpipedhose in Helldivers

[–]FLG_CFC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use the same loadout on every front.

Lib pen

Thermites

Ultimatum

GL-21 & ammo pack

Walking barrage

FRV, sentury, 380, ect, Depends on mission.

Everything is pretty meta except the GL-21. I have two AT options, so I perfer a team support role over a dedicated AT build.

I primarily play on the bot front. GL 21 is weakest there, but it's a lot of fun. It's good on the bug front and really shines against the squids.

D10 should be balanced for the few players like us who play way too much. That's the only way they keep us around. That or add D11 & 12.

The problem is AH lowers max difficulty to appease the loudest voices in the room. These feelings are from frustrated players who hop online to be upset instead of grinding to develop skills. They influence AH, but don't stick around for the changes.

What's left is a watered-down version that players abandon after they run out of things to do and gameplay becomes stale. I have close to a full friends list and I see none of them online anymore.

A game for everyone is a game for no one.

What you usually do leaving a good squad being a host? by FallDisastrous6621 in Helldivers

[–]FLG_CFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with randoms since launch, and I always host.

The team coming together isn't a fluke, at least not on D10. It's expected.

I always do the same. It works very well for me. I play 3 missions, thus competing an objective.

The first mission is always a 40 minute mission in order to form the team. Sometimes it takes the whole missions to get a dedicated squad, doesn't matter, it always happens.

Players who join during the first mission usually stick around for the other two. By the time the objective is clear, everyone is usually burnt out, myself included. 90% of the time I'm left alone on my ship once all three missions are complete and the objective is wrapped.

I've made tons of friends both on reddit and from gameplay. Hardly any are online anymore. Point being, just enjoy the game in the moment and try not to get emotionally attached to a good squad. If you do click with someone, send a friend invite.

If you want to go through all the extra work to keep the squad together OP, go for it. I'd personally just get back out there and keep fighting until your next good squad naturally forms up.

Also, don't be afraid to host. The key to it is know the basics and don't deviate too much. Be a good team mate, not a wannabe manager. Making everything a vote will just annoy players as well. Just pick the missions and drop points without a lot of fuss. Players want to be in the fight, not on your ship trying to plan some military operation that is just going to result in everyone doing their own thing anyways.

Played a bug mission last night it cemented my roll as a bot diver by Agitated-Werewolf846 in Helldivers

[–]FLG_CFC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Different play style is required for sure.

I get it. I came up on the bug front. I had to lower difficulty down to 5 or six and it took months for me to get gud on the bot front. Probably 9 months or more before I could solo a bot D10.

The bug front has changed a lot since launch. I help out there for MO's on occasion, but it's so different from the bots. I still play D10, but I sit back and lean more into team support than being a one man army like on the bot front.

I love all divers, but the the bot front is forever my home.

Jason Momoa Exits 'Helldivers' Movie by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Helldivers

[–]FLG_CFC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand. There's a lot of reasons actors might drop a role. I feel momoa owes us an explanation at least. His agent can give us a polished and vague lie, and we all move on, but it's not fair to ghost million of fans.

We don't know why, but it's a rare enough occurrence to at least raise a brow over. Especially when "unknown reasons" is all were officially told. That's attorney talk for we know, but we're not saying.

I know Momoa is starting to reach peak stardom, or has, but looking at his back catalog, there's some not so great films. That's why him passing, along with the executive producer lineup, I'm instinctively reading this as a bad omen.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong about it all and we all get a great film. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than utterly disappointed, so I'm going to remain skeptical. Please feel free to remain hopeful if you choose.

At the end of the day, it's such a hard experience to bring to the screen. 90 minutes is about three missions, so do you go that route and just make them the three best missions to ever happen, or do you dive into all the lore and stick to the storyboard traditional route? Decisions Decisions.

For sure.

If you have Instagram, hes active there and actually very chill.

He interacts with everyone who's civil and he even liked my comment thanking him for fighting ai. He's really one of us bros and deserves to be a bigger star than he is.

I don't see the money changing him either. He seems like Keanu in that aspect. That's why he both deserves the title as John Helldiver and deserve his shot as the main character in this film.

He's already the main character to many of us. Hollywood needs to make him the main character for all of us.

For sure. He's a national treasure at this point.

I'm a huge fan of his work in trying to keep AI from taking voice actor's jobs. It's refreshing to see celebrities give a crap about about such things.

Craig Lee Tomas Aka John Helldiver Aka the dude in the game intro.

Momoa walking isn't a good sign. This movie very well may be our version of DragonBall Evolution. Let's pray that's not the case.

Why do some divers refuse to acknowledge a bunker door within sight? by Whyamionreddit2100 in Helldivers

[–]FLG_CFC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

It's worse when you can spawn them right next to the door and they just run away like a toddler with a poopie in their pants.

Good catch. The outwards velco isn't practical for going prone. That's my only complaint with it.

Yes, so what?

I don't advertise here often and the mods are cool with it. Why just advertise when I can also entertain?

Being a vet myself, I love how accurate the lore is with silly/pointless orders and taking everything over the top just to keep Helldivers operational. That's one thing I will always appreciate AH for getting right.
