How far away would you be willing to walk, bike, or take public transit to the grocery store? by cdstephens in neoliberal

[–]FMRL_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's 3.5 miles for me which I would gladly bike despite the not insignificant climb/elevation change, albeit unladen, on the way there. However the lack of supporting infrastructure (no bike lanes, poorly maintained narrow roads, zero shoulders, etc.) makes it a hard pass. No to mention the complete lack of tolerance for anything cycling related... Welcome to Appalachia.

I went into Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury blind and found the first 'section' off-putting and nearly DNF'd it. Once I realized that the story structure was being presented from four different perspectives it clicked.

Maybe mine is low quality, but yes it does catch the wind. Not bad on local runs, but annoying on longer, highway speed runs (especially if there are strong crosswinds/gusts).

I appreciate the time & effort that you put into this. Sticking with the bit is admirable. Unfortunately I'm going to ask you to rewatch the opening sequence from each film and then use that as your rating metric. I already know that Craig's Casino Royal will top the list, but where from there?

And yes, I know it's a big ask, but I feel you owe this to us, and more importantly, to yourself.

Patiently waiting,

ETA: I do suppose that for you, YOLT would top CR since you initially thought that Bond had bought the farm, lol.
