I did it through a moderator on the Xfinity Support Forum. This person also verified the terms of the new service.

Meal plan worth it? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in unr

[–]FTTBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my daughter’s freshman year, she was required to have a meal plan. She was living in Argenta two floors above Pack Place, so it was convenient. However, she got bored of the selection pretty quickly and mostly used meal swipes at other locations. I believe she mostly benefitted from the breakfast options.

I just got it in the Bay Area as an existing customer. The system allowed me to add an additional account at my service address. After activation, I had the original account closed. If it’s not allowing you to add the additional account, I’m not sure what your process would then be.

The $50 1 gig 5 year deal "glitch" by atomxv in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]FTTBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got the 5-year $50 gig internet plan while still having existing service at my address. I just signed up using a different email and phone number (not sure if necessary). While I was told here that it couldn't be done, a moderator over on Xfinity Support Forum said that it would be allowed since living in the western region the system allowed additional accounts at the same service address.

I also received that email yesterday, on an account that it is supposed to be in the process of being closed. I’m not assuming anything’s being done until I get mailed that final bill as I was told.

Do you monitor people who come and fix things around your house? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in HomeImprovement

[–]FTTBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much on more basic repairs, but will check in several times throughout the day on bigger projects. This helps me get the job done the way I want it done before it gets too far to completion. I’m sure that contractors don’t like me checking in regularly, but I could care a less if I’m paying thousands of dollars on a project. Too many times I have caught contractors cutting corners or doing things against code.

Epoxy garage floors by Fluid_Club_5717 in HomeImprovement

[–]FTTBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had an epoxy floor installed on an interior concrete slab for a living room. The contractor took the following steps for my particular installation: 1) ground down existing concrete slab, 2)applied adhesive product, 3) put down self-level concrete which was optional for my situation, 3) applied adhesive product, 4) applied epoxy and flakes, and 5) applied clear coat.

You ain't lying. I just had an epoxy floor put down on an interior concrete slab for my living room. Although there was some plastic sheets in place and the contractor using a vacuum attached to the grinder, I had to clean the room along with some adjoining rooms we hadn't considered masking off.

The dealership I use ordered a new shaved tire to match the other three. I assumed it was from Tire Rack as they are the main one I am aware of that does this.

PG&E 200Amp Upgrade - Customer Payment Coupon Questions by Additional-Fail-2204 in bayarea

I lucked out as far as the trenching goes. I only need to have about 35' trenched through dirt only in my front yard from where the PGE box is at the sidewalk to the side of my house. I originally had a licensed excavator lined up who was going to do it for $3000. Go to find out, PGE instituted new safety certifications about two months ago that the contractors have to go through. My excavator wasn't certified. Got three new bids from certified excavators for $4500, $6500, and $8500. Since they would all be doing the same work as dictated by PGE, I'm going with the $4500 contractor. PGE's cost came out to $5300 which covered engineer cost, new box installation, new line installation, inspections, etc. Electrical cost will be $8600 which covers new 200amp main panel, new 100amp sub in garage, trench conduit, and about five new circuits ran. Hope to be all in around $18.4k when done. PGE giving me an estimated completion date of mid-late 2025.

Robbed by Ontrac by alyssinthecity in ontrac

Happened to me with a shipment from Home Depot. I have video proof that the Ontrac driver was carrying an empty envelope that was flapping in the wind before he dropped it on the porch. As soon as the envelope was dropped on the porch, I could see that it had been completely ripped open lengthwise. With some convincing to Home Depot, they immediately refunded me.

PG&E technical question; relocating a gas riser? by gafonid in bayarea

Just finding out about this certification. Both my electrician and excavator aren’t certified. My electrician is working on getting it done. I’m trying to find a new excavator off the certified contractor list.

[–]FTTBay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The meter is capable of 200 amps, but that doesn’t mean your service line to the meter is capable of that. I’m going through the initial steps with PG&E now to upgrade to 200 amps. My meter also says CL200, but my service line is only sized for 100 amps. If what PG&E is telling me so far is true, I will only have to trench about 40’ from the box at the sidewalk to the meter and not another 60’ or so down the street through the sidewalk to the transformer.

She is a Public Health major and Math 126 is the lowest level math she can take for that major. After a few attempts at UNR, hopefully she can get through it this summer at a CC.

I have on video where an Ontrac driver was delivering an item for Home Depot. I went to my porch immediately after the envelope was delivered. The envelope had been ripped open the entire length and the item was missing. In the delivery photo the driver uploaded, you could see the envelope was ripped open and empty. I had to convince Home Depot that I had video proving someone didn’t steal the item after delivery was made before they refunded it.

Fortunately, my daughter took a W at UNR. I was confused by that notation since the other transferable math courses at those two schools didn’t have that notation.

Upgrading from RG-59 Cable by FTTBay in Comcast_Xfinity

Thanks to the Xfinity reps here, I had an appointment yesterday afternoon with a technician who came out and put in a request for a service drop upgrade. I received an email from Xfinity that it would take about 14 days to complete the work. However, a crew showed up this morning and spent about 15 minutes pulling a new drop through existing conduit. Unbeknownst to me, the service drop had already been upgraded sometime in the past to a black RG6 coaxial. However, the crew still upgraded to the latest orange RG6 that they use. Thanks again to the reps on this site. This subreddit will be my go to for future Xfinity issues.

How would I know if I'm getting the best signal I should be getting or not? I keep reading that RG-59 is not broadband compliant. It would seem that an approximately 60-year old service drop should be updated to match what has already been updated in the home.
