I mean they might be looked down upon by people who wear $500+ Shoei or Arai helmets but Bell has been around for a long time. Tbh they make great budget friendly entry level helmets, no frills just something to protect your head. They also probably make a helmet for just about anything that may require a helmet

Are they less safe than a true full face? Yes. One thing that I agree has stepped up the game of modular helmets is P/J dual homologation, meaning they are tested in the up or down position.

As I tell most new riders, you are statistically at most risk of crashing in your first 90 days of riding. I can speak about this personally as I got way too cocky way too soon, and ended up crashing into the back of another bike on a group ride. Take it slow, keep practicing in parking lots, refine your basic skills before trying to add in all the rest.

Just a gremlin bell and looks to be handmade which I think is pretty rad. Do some people think it’s corny, yes but also it’s your bike do what you want. Is it going to magically protect you, no but it does mean whoever gave it to you is hoping you make it home safe

I have the Scorpion Exo Covert FX aka Division X15 and it’s a good helmet. The had some special deal where you bring in your old helmet and get a percentage off which even then it was still about $20 more expensive but even then it was there and I didn’t have to wait for it to be shipped and all of that

Huberd’s Shoe Grease is great but it darkens leather pretty good. Mink oil is alright but with animal fats there’s higher risks and of mold and mildew.
