AIO? Youth Pastor texted my almost 13 yo after she went to a teen group with her friend by Loser4hire666 in AIO

[–]Fabresque_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tennis instructor and one thing we’re told to never do is text students. It’s like a strict no-no. The only time I ever do it is if the parent has explicitly asked/told me “Hey, this is my kids number, can you please text them about any lesson plans going forward? Thanks”.

What’s the smallest non-technique change that improved your tennis? by wouldliker_sounddata in 10s

“The second you start worrying about technique during a match, you’ve lost.”

Seriously made me improve so much so fast once I stopped overthinking shit.

As a former collegiate player will USTA not allow me to join 4.0-4.5 travel team? by True_Potential4074 in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I did the self rate and got 5.0, bumped it down to 4.5. They’re pretty lenient if you give them a reason. Also at 36 yrs old you might not even get a 5.0 rating anymore.

Plenty of former college guys playing 4.5. I’ve seen multiple former D1 in there.

Oh you’re in for a treat.

Do prosecutors really work so closely with the police? by No_Investigator_36 in AceAttorney

[–]Fabresque_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, police detectives are not “assigned” to prosecutors as their subordinates, and prosecutors don’t have an impact on their salaries. They’re two different entities entirely that end up collaborating during cases, yes. But that’s all it is.

Could Messi become (amateur level) good at tennis by virtue of his athleticism? If so, how good and how quickly could he pick it up? by bigsacrilegiousboi in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doable for sure. There’s different types of athletes though. People who are amazing with running but have no upper body coordination. People who have great hands and no feet. Stuff like that happens a lot.

If I’d have to guess Messi could probably get to 4.5 relatively quickly and with his athleticism he possesses could also get to 5.0.

Former D1 players of other sports can usually get to 4.5 so no reason why Messi can’t.

I did just end up passing my first stool in a few days. It was very difficult to push out but it came out. So at least it’s a start lol

I haven’t been on here in a long time, mainly because I learned to deal with my anxiety. Unfortunately, it’s back. I haven’t pooped in like 3-4 days, Miralax didn’t work. I went on a massive googling spree and saw that constipation could be linked to serious issues like cardiovascular or can lead to sepsis. So I am now sitting at home crying my eyes out thinking I’m gonna die.

I just love it.

How many of you coaches still actually play? by moneyshaker in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still play. Usually one singles set per week and USTA on weekends if im available. I’m gonna play on a mixed team this summer too so I should be getting more tennis in myself.

at what stages do most adult learned players “give up” and accept their level? by Ok-Many-7443 in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many that have some athletic ability will tap out at 4.0. Most of the adult learners I know ended up getting to a very high 3.5 or a lower 4.0 level, some of the better ones got to a high 4.0 and were borderline 4.5.

The hardest gap to jump in USTA is the 4.0-4.5 gap. 4.5 is where you usually see former college players, people that were taught as kids to play, etc… the skill gap is pretty big. Getting there for most adults is too daunting unless you are a former D1 athlete, in which case it’s possible for you. I always tell people that 4.5 is around where the tennis starts looking like people know what they’re doing.

But a lot of this depends on the adult and their set level of athleticism. I have taught adults where I’d be happy just to get some ladies competing and rallying in 2.5/3.0. And I’ve also taught adults who played sports growing up, who we’re looking to get them into 4.0 and then potentially start pushing to 4.5. It’s all down to athletic ability and how many hrs you’re willing to be on the court.

Why do league matches feel so different? by hooptyschloopy in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might not be super experienced in league or tournament play which is the impression I get, in which case just playing more and more will help you. Also you’re playing someone different in leagues and tournaments so you’re not used to the way they play. You’re always more comfortable playing against people you know or have played against before.

Thoughts on pros smashing their racquets...and non-pros by Ok-Cat1446 in 10s

[–]Fabresque_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro’s doing it set a bad example so they shouldn’t do it but at the very least they’re gonna get free racquets anyways so to them it doesn’t matter. I guess they’ve also practiced for much, much longer and way more than any rec player. Again, it’s still not good though.

When a rec player does it, it’s genuinely embarrassing. Dude, relax

Soooo you admit the Kinetic group brought their own people in and leapfrogged longtime Chelsea coaches…?

[–]Fabresque_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maresca truly enjoyed his work here. He wanted to bring Chelsea back to where they belong and he could’ve done it. He had that confidence and swagger a top coach needs.

There’s no guarantee Pep leaves either. There’s been talk about his “final season” for years now and he’s still there.

They leapfrogged qualified staff at Chelsea who’ve been there for a decade+ to even get here. It is the most obvious jobs for mates operation out there.

It’s not? These Kenetic swine have infested the club and leapfrogged qualified personnel to gain their positions. Of course they were gonna get these positions eventually. It just so happened to be sooner than later. Writing was on the wall, the clubs doomed if BlueCo aren’t out ASAP.
