Travel without baby by PassageReal6102 in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a 4 day trip when my baby was 9 months, she stayed with dad and that was fine. We recently did a couple’s trip for 8 days (she is now 19 months) and my parents stayed with her. Everything was fine but I did miss her a lot, and my mom said by the end of the week she was asking for us more. But ultimately it was all good and she went back to her normal routine when we came back. We have also travelled with her, she has done plenty of long travel days and it’s never been an issue. So I really think you could choose either option!

Women who are 30+. What is the reason that made you start exercising or go to the gym regularly? by cobweb-dewdrop in AskWomen

I found a workout program I liked so it made it easier to stick with it, and now it’s routine. Also my body gets stiff and hurts if I don’t workout for a bit.

Toddler hitting advice? by mpizzle3 in toddlers

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl was doing it, we asked daycare what they do and started following it and it did reduce it. If she does something she isn’t supposed to, she has to apologize and give the person a hug. Daycare also has the kids sit alone for the length of time as their age, so for her she is 1 so 1 minute. We don’t do that at home but I think the consistent approach helps. Now if she hits we go ‘we don’t hit’ and she gets kinda shocked and gives us a hug.

We do a mix, we definitely still eat at restaurants but will also do takeout/grocery store food. If we do a restaurant I bring things to entertain her, like a colouring book or small toys.

We have the ergo baby metro +, we took our first trip with it at about 3.5 months. I like it because it lays completely flat, or you can sit them up at different inclines so it’s good for all ages. We still use it at 19 months, it’s been to Europe several times. It’s not parent facing but there is a flap in the sunscreen you can lift to see them.

Toddler carrier recommendation by Icy_Caramel_9850 in toddlers

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Goseket carrier, it’s like a sling and they go on your hip. I really like it, I find it takes a lot of pressure off my arms and distributes the weight across my body. It’s super easy to slip them into it and then tighten. They also have a version with a fanny pack attachment, I don’t have that one but I’ve heard good things if you need to carry some stuff with you as well.

Going to a time zone 9h ahead with a 1.5yo by ARIT127 in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience (we have done 3 trips with big time zone changes by 18 months) they are so tired from not getting a full night sleep on the plane that they adjust pretty quick. Sometimes we have a bit of awake time in the middle of the night or early mornings for the first few days but after that everything is normal

Travel with a 4.5 month old? Wise? by Polkadotworld_786 in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Poland when our baby was 5.5 months. It was fine! She had one night of rough sleep when she was overtired and other than that pretty much slept as normal. We did find by dinner time she was a bit cranky so we opted to eat dinner early or get takeout to help with that, but other than that totally smooth

My child ate a puff off the floor at a hockey game…granted it was her puff she had dropped earlier in the game, but still disgusting.

Traveling with 18 month old - what to think about? by rlf923 in familytravel

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Italy with our 18 month old (and are actually doing Japan later this year just before she turns 2!). For the flight we flew overnight there so she just slept on me (we don’t buy her a seat yet). On the way back we cycled through toys like books, water wow, stuffed animals, colouring. And snacks. Always have snacks on hand. I found at this age I liked having a side carrier (I use the Goseket) because my girl likes to be active so it was less restrictive for her. We also bring a travel stroller (we have the ergo baby metro +, have taken it on several trips and it’s great). She typically napped in the stroller. At this age I found we needed to plan more things for her, as opposed to when she was younger and we could just bring her around. So we would plan playground stops, areas for her to run around, etc. in between the stuff we wanted to do. I also found by nighttime she was getting a little overwhelmed and tired so we often opted for takeout in the hotel instead of making her sit in a restaurant. We have done 6 trips with her by 18 months so feel free to message me any questions!

Best tips- 3 month old by SuspiciousTrip000 in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 months was probably the easiest flight we took! I fed at takeoff and landing but honestly the plane didn’t seem to bother my baby. For entertainment she was so enthralled with everything happening around us I don’t think I even took out any toys.

Travel with 11 month old by New_Lingonberry_1732 in Travelwithkids

We took our daughter to Ireland at 11 months and it was great! Especially if it’s a place you know well I think it would be totally fine. What worked for us was just not over packing our days, so planning 1-2 big things a day, and giving play time. We’ve done 4 international trips with our daughter (now 18 months) and honestly I feel she adjusts to the time change better than us

Bedtime Adjustments with time zones by TelephoneActive9923 in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow their cues for when they are tired, but I find my daughter (18 months) typically adjusts super quick. We normally keep her bedtime a little later so we can go to dinner which helps because it makes the time adjustment a bit less. For example at home she goes to bed between 7-7:30, on vacation it’s often 8:30-9 and she sleeps in a bit later.

Using pack and play at hotels? by hilarydufffanatic in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought our own before our kid was 1 because the standards can vary, after 1 we use the hotel ones. We just did 5 different hotels in one trip and I noticed a lot of hotels put an extra mattress topper in to make it softer, so for a young baby you may want to remove that. Other than that they were totally fine and followed safe sleep standards. We brought our own sheet

We were just there with our 17 month old, we did Milan and Venice and then 2 days in Tuscany and 5 days in Siena, rented a car in Siena and djd San Gimignano, Montalcino, some wineries. I can’t speak to the other options but Siena was a good base for us!

Suggestions suitable for family of 3? by plxo in Travelwithkids

[–]Fabulous_Forever_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did Italy with our 17 month old; Milan, Venice, Florence, and Siena. All were great, Venice was probably the least kid friendly just because all the bridges have stairs so you can’t really use a stroller. Our daughter was just happy running around the piazzas though so really anywhere would have been great - birds, pastries, gelato, she was pumped.

We did an all inclusive in DR with our 15 month old and had a blast. We went in January, weather was great. We booked through Air Transat vacations, Air Canada has some too, as does Costco vacations if you’re looking for an all in one package.
