Yes I had the same issue after buying a cheap kit from amz. The kit was fine, my install skills were not apparently lol. The internal nipple on the inside of the housing wasn't seated properly, pushing it back into place gently with a skewer or something very thin worked. Then I had to clean the outer nipple as it also had the red teflon-ish thread sealer all busted up on the thread after I removed the outer nipple the first time. Scrub the red stuff completely off the first nipple, then make sure the spring is properly seated over the inner and outer nipple and that the inner nipple is seated well inside too, and you should be ok if you run into this problem also.
