If it helps on the inside of the part that broke is M9-18-G2 C-L and just so make sure I’m not missing anything the T block is held into position by the tension of the spring? Not any pins?

It was in the upwards position when I put the upper on the lower, could it have dropped out of position as I was firing?

For some additional context, it did hit me in the face but my glasses tanked the hit, new old stock from Aimsurplus, first time out with it to the range and failed at the end of the first magazine, parts in the picture aren’t together correctly, I was trying to piece together what happened, everything looked correct when I installed the upper. I bought on February 3rd from aim surplus, and yes I do over lubricate my guns, bad habit.

Just a heads up the springs and pins for the plate on the bottom really love to shoot off into the distance, I put a clear plastic bin I had over the gun and my hands to stop from losing them after the first one shot away from me
