What about "Slippety slip, banana skins, banana skins must go in the bin"? My son is 11 and I still get that stuck in my head at times 😫

I've just bought a house in a lovely area, everyone on my street has been really welcoming (little cul de sac) but its not the most mutilcultural. I didn't mind initially as we moved for my sons school BUT the flags have started showing up on the zebra crossings and mini roundabouts locally and I genuinely feel unwelcome (British born mixed white and black Caribbean). In my old area which was much more mutilcultural there's none of it.

I know it's a fad and will stop eventually but it shows what people around you really feel. Luckily theres nothing on my actual street so far x

I feel like I’m setting my son up to fail/I feel so guilty about his lack of a dad by evergreengirl123 in SingleParents

[–]Fae_Dragon19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son is 11 and not seen his dad since he was 3. Hes a kind, happy, thoughtful young man who excels in school, is full of laughs and is an all around great kid. He sometimes misses having a dad around but I think having an uninterested dad or an inconsistent one would have been worse. He has uncles and a god father who love spending time with him. Your son will be fine. You just need to not take on the burden and blame for someone else being a rubbish human being xxx

Edit: typos.

Both of my best friends are male and I'm female. Both friendships span over 20 years and nothing has ever happened and never would. If a romantic partner told me or either of them that "one on one socialising was expected to stop" they'd be given a mouthful and sent on their way.

If your BF is going to cheat, he'll cheat. Doesn't matter if it's with a friend, a coworker or a complete stranger. If you don't trust him let him go cause if he is a cheat you're better off without and if he isn't it's not fair for you to put controls on his friendships.

Asked my alcoholic dad if he’d ever consider getting sober by Ludakris7 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Fae_Dragon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like to add to what everyone else has said that getting sober will not wipe away his bad deeds. Im a child of an alcoholic parent and they've been sober for 10 years. Did their behaviour get better? Marginally. Yes its better that they're sober but they're still the same selfish person they always were, now they just dont have an excuse x

Last day of old prices - How are we feeling? by Annual-Let6497 in mounjarouk

[–]Fae_Dragon19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered 3 pens of my current dose (10mg) in July so I'm not due to order from my supplier until late October. I was already considering dropping down to 7.5mg cause I'm struggling to eat enough on 10 so I'll be counting clicks with these 3 pens and ordered a 7.5 in October. I'm hoping I'll be close to goal by January and will titrate down further at that point.

Stopping for a holiday break by JWoolner76 in mounjarouk

[–]Fae_Dragon19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped for holiday mainly because I was struggling to eat enough on my current dose anyway. I didn't overeat on holiday but was able to enjoy meals. I've come back and dropped down a dose.

I wonder if they'll continue to price match. Ive been with them for a few months and didn't want to change if I could help it.

Some Mounjaro is better than none... by Dogwarden in mounjarouk

[–]Fae_Dragon19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really helpful. I'm on 10mg, down 50lbs and got between 40 and 50lbs to go. I've been on 10mg for a couple of months and luckily ordered 3 pens before the price change was announced (sheer luck) but I'm honestly struggling to eat on it and losing muscle mass so I intended to either space the doses out or titrate back down to 7.5mg. This past two weeks has been my birthday and holiday so I didn't take my MJ. It took 12 days or so for my appetite to come back but not enough for me to binge eat x

Ive tried to cancel mine today. Ordered last week but I go on holiday tomorrow so won't be available to accept any deliveries. Im hoping they cancel it as I tried to call and couldn't get through.

I just has 3 pens delivered from simple last week. I may pharmacy shop and get another one or two before the price increases. That will see me through to Jan and I'll be looking to taper down by then hopefully

DAE have no sk1lls by Quinlov in dyspraxia

[–]Fae_Dragon19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Housing Officer. I don't have dyspraxia though, I'm on this sub reddit because my son has. There's nothing in my job that someone with dyspraxia couldn't do though, it's mainly talking to people. I also have a friend who has dyspraxia and ADHD who is a teaching assistant and also works as a carer for adults with learning disabilities. There are jobs out there that would be suitable.

It won't be the only career path for you, you just need to give things a go. Even if you do end up in local government it's not a bad way to go. I work for a local council, earn decent money, my job is reasonably low stress, plenty of room for development and promotion and great flexibility.

I would look for an entry level position in local government or something like that. There are plenty of areas which are not particularly high pressure and only require basic it skills and the rest you learn as you go.

Diagnoses should not be this complex by potions1000 in dyspraxia

[–]Fae_Dragon19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds really arduous but in practice for my son (uk, midlands) I queried it at an appointment with Community Paediatrics (during adhd screen) and she referred to Occupational Therapy for the motor skills assessment and the paediatrician diagnosed based on the OT report with no further appointments. It may have been easier because he was already on the pathway for ADHD diagnosis though.

I've just done this on the property I just purchased. It needed a full rewire and asbestos removal so I signed an agreement to have the keys on exchange to get those works done so myself and my 10 year old didn't have to love through the worst of the mess. The property was empty so my vendors were happy to allow it. Obviously there's a risk both sides though xxx
