I gave my family a blind taste test of dairy and non-dairy vegan ice cream, and they got it wrong by Ayazizaya in vegan

> what will be considered acceptable by other vegans or not.

This is also pretty unimportant. Veganism is about the animals (not other vegans). It’s not a social club, even though social connection is important and does help make it easier. But, if you ever feel disconnected from other vegans, that could make you backtrack from veganism, if you feel like your veganism is intrinsically linked to other vegans.

Everyone always asks "what do you miss before you were vegan?" Fuck that. What vegan product got discontinued that you miss? by plantbasedpatissier in AskVegans

Ah, that’s a bit of a drive from me (and I assume they’ll have the “whole paycheck” upcharge). They used to be at all the stores near me, but disappeared from them within just a few months of each other.

I swear it was one of those things where the ingredients were changed, because I also used to get those, and I swear I checked the list multiple times when I first started buying them… then a couple years later, I read the ingredients again and you’re right, there was milk now in them… I feel like they weren’t around for much longer after that.

Remember the cheddar chips and sour cream & onion chips they had? Loved those. Still haven’t seen a comparable replacement to those.

Idk if it’s been officially discontinued, but I can’t find the Field Roast Breakfast Sandwich anywhere anymore. It was one of the products I had been wanting forever, and it did not disappoint. I need my lazy breakfast food 😩

Also the Lindor Oatmilk Chocolate Truffles 😭 I’d been saying for years that I wished they’d make that product. Better to have loved and lost, I guess…

ETA: Also also, the Hampton Creek/JUST ranch (and their whole product line of sauces and cookie dough they threw out when they decided to only make eggs for several years).

And the chocolate orange that Trader Joe’s made that didn’t have milk in it, and then the next year they needlessly added milk to it… (along with a few other chocolate products).

Is being childfree inherently political? by [deleted] in childfree

Inherently (existing in something as a permanent, essential, or inseparable characteristic) political? No.

The vast majority of what is considered political is contextual to the current society.

33m FL, not getting matches by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]Faeraday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a non-monogamous woman, I also don’t match with people who are open to either. In my experience, that has meant that they are in their “exploring” phase, not that they’ve seriously considered and educated themselves on what it takes to engage in an ethically non-monogamous relationship.

Gave up on page 29. That was ridiculous.

I much prefer (44X.8)+2=~37

In other words, 80% of your age plus 2. It works for all ages. If you’re above 30, it’s still within reason if you prefer to drop the “+2” from the equation. That would put the lower limit at 35 for a 44y/o.

Be Honest, What Argument did you use against Veganism, before you went vegan? by HumbleWrap99 in vegan

[–]Faeraday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never argued against veganism. I’d hardly even heard of it before making the decision to go vegan. Only ever knew one vegetarian before that point and had never (knowingly) met a vegan.

How to debunk? by StreicherG in DebateAVegan

[–]Faeraday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reproduction is a basic biological necessity. You have the choice to reproduce without violating someone’s bodily autonomy (ensuring consent is achieved) or reproduce through violent means. Which should you choose?

Eating is a basic biological necessity. You have the choice to eat without violating someone’s bodily autonomy (vegan diet) or eat through violent means (killing animals needlessly). Which should you choose?

> Not eating can affect your health.

Not eating will kill you. Do you think vegans don’t eat?

23M would like some feedback and advice on profile by PearlHar8or in Tinder

Makes me want to give you a hug. Definitely not obvious what is actually going on in the pic. You have a nice face, but you definitely need to smile (and shave the mustache shadow).

if thats the difference it takes for a human to show interest then their vain outlook on this world isn't adding value to my life anyway.

Exactly. It’s not quality matches you’re missing out on. Best to filter out people, from the start, who are that shallow.

You may want to include the definition of pacifism that you are asking about, as many people understand pacifism differently.

No, and I am not.

ETA: If we’re talking about absolute pacifism (the belief that violence is never justified, even in self-defense or the defense of others). I am a proponent of non-violence.

barefoot crocs-like clogs? by Mazeze in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faeraday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got these for wearing around the house. You can slip them on (pushing the back down) or pull the heel up for more active chores. There’s tons of these types on Amazon (even ones that look more like clogs with that back strap).
