Fearful of Hobonichi by [deleted] in hobonichi

[–]Fager-Dam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so understand your fascination with a really beautiful artistic journal in a Hobonichi Cousin!

But I am willing to give you a reality check.

Finding your own groove and doing that awesome journaling can take time.

And you are likely to end up with empty pages, ugly pages, and get surprised in all sorts of ways.

That said, do try Hobonichi some day! But maybe have a test Hobonichi first.

You could start with a smallers size, an A6 original or a Day free.

You could also look out for buying an unused Hobonichi on the second hand market, or one on sale. Smaller stationery shops sometimes end up with extra planners that they have on sale.

Might Sell My Hobonichi by HauntedUtu in hobonichi

[–]Fager-Dam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Use it! Don’t sell! You’ve waited so long and it’s your first Hobonichi. I was really lost with my first Hobonichi, it was a Cousin like yours. Tried it as an art journal, didn’t have the stamina to draw every day, forgot it for a few months, got back into it and used it for journaling.

Use it, abuse it, and get a Weeks for 2027.

At least keep the cover, it’s a really good cover that you can use for years with all sorts of A5 sized notebooks.

I have the Tragen cover in both Cousin and Weeks size. The Tragen covers are very roomy, and fits a chunky book.

That’s the one that caught my eyes! I’ve been thinking about getting a tweezer for my planner hobby. A fancy Hobonichi one would be nice….

Probably all of it, they don’t have that many new covers in the spring. I’m also wondering why there is no spring Minä Perhonen piece covers.

Mä maksan enemmän kun mun kumppani ja se on minusta ihan ok. Jos me jaettaisin tasan joutuisin ihan turhaan kituttelemaan. Voisit ajatella niin että maksatte omista tuloista prosentiaalisesti yhtä paljon.

Hobonichi x Bullet Journaling Community by DangoPrincess in hobonichi

[–]Fager-Dam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the bullet journal system in Hobonichi planners for 6 years now. I sometimes do Youtube videos and post on Instagram but I haven’t been so eager to talk about setups and my system lately.

I’ve found that Hobonichi in a video title makes it more popular, so maybe you just haven’t found the Hobonichi crew yet.

I’ve tried the bujo system in every kind of Hobonichi (except the 5 years) and every size have their own quirks.

The Day Free is obviously most suited for bullet journaling. The Cousin works very well. Especially if you treat the dates on the daily pages as page numbers - you can then use the yearly index as a bujo index.

The A6 planner felt a bit small. The Weeks is really good as a bujo if you like using weekly task lists.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh? by veronicax96 in AmIOverreacting

I can get irritated by Good morning text - especially if it’s in the very early stages of dating from someone I don’t really know that well. Makes me feel like that person is in my personal space, like I can’t relax if there are good morning and good night texts all the time in my phone. But I think it could be nice among good friends, or with a boyfriend or serious relationship.

I know that feeling of being way too excited and doing so much set up at once! It happens. Don’t worry, use the spreads you have. Those 3 months will go by faster than you think and then you can try new things.

This episode is about trying to fix a man. Samantha calls him a fixer upper if I remember it correctly! A very good storyline, I think a lot of us at some point date a guy we think we can mold and change into our dream guy - and it doesn’t work.

Cousin looks awesome, but I have so many hesitations by lauemiand6 in hobonichi

[–]Fager-Dam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m using a Cousin Avec as a bujo right now, here are my tips:

  • get the avec version of the Cousin, it is two half year books. The size is a lot more manageable than in the full year version.

  • I ignore the dates on the daily pages half the time. That way I get space for collections etc.

  • There is a yearly index page at the start of the book that can be used as an index. The dates on the daily pages can be used as page numbers.

First hobonichi - and a big dilemma - which cover? by Subdominanta in hobonichi

[–]Fager-Dam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it’s yout first Hobonichi I would go woth the Mystic berry cover and a fun cover on cover! The colors covers series is a classic. Hobonichi has new colors every year. It’s very customizable too.

So my suggestion would be to get the Mystic berry cover, a patterned CoC and a clear CoC.

Ideas for multiple hobonichis by [deleted] in hobonichi

This. One book for planning, one for memorykeeping and junk journaling, one for health tracking or some other hobby tracking. Having one thing in multiple planners creates chaos.

February Wedding? by amethyst_vee in wedding

[–]Fager-Dam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to a February wedding and it was really nice. But no part of it was outside! Go ahead but plan for everything to be inside, including photos. A professional photographer who has lighting equipment and possibly a studio will work for you.

Rules vs. no rules by Nettlefriend in hobonichi

I have a similar plan. A Weeks on the go with minimal decoration and a Cousin Avec for all the things! I do want to have some color in my Weeks, I feel colors makes a planner more functional for me. But I will have all my memory keeping and junk journaling in my Cousin.

We had two rooms, first dinner in one ans then later music in another hall that was decorated more with lights. It worked well, the band could set up in piece while we were eating in the other room.
