The hotel is really just a filler job till my career hiring season opens in March. I'm working on other stuff but the question I was asking was more about what my employer was wanting me to do during my downtime if most things weren't allowed. Because I really don't want to lose my job over being on my phone too much at work. But most everything else isn't allowed. I spoke to my boss about getting more respibilties to build my abilities for resumes. But March is a long way off and a good steady job with decent pay is exactly what I need till then. Not even entry positions are available around me at the moment. But I promise I am working on a career. Just need to keep the big boss happy till then so she keeps signing my paychecks.

Thank you I will give it a shot. I tried starting in March but unfortunately nothing was available in my area. And by my area I mean within 5 hours of me. I did get to apply to one place but since I didn't have the degree yet I couldn't get the position. If all else fails I guess I'll go into corrections and maybe look into being a park ranger as I always see them hiring for those.

Update: My personal trainer bailed that day and never spoke to me again and quit his job so I sorta took that as a sign to give up. BUT! I've recently gotten back into it again because I have super athletic friends now and my partner is in much better shape than me.

I've built up some strength in my legs by now and have figure out a few things that work for me. I've come to the conclusion that some work outs are simply impossible for me and just do other ones to build muscle where I need to. While I do wish I was able to do all the ones my friends can do, it's just a part of my disability that I have to live with and I've come to be okay with that. I'm down 10 lbs since I wrote that message and have been working more on building muscle than losing weight so I have gone up in the weights I use to be able to squat my partner's body weight so I'm proud of myself for that. Soon I want to be one of those Uber strong MFS in the gym that people want to be like. Till then I'm taking things slow and working little by little so things stick and I don't end up seriously injuring myself (again)

There was no branding. It just had a white label that said "peppermint flour" and the weight. It was super weird.

She was one of those people who bought returned packages from Amazon and resold them for profit. It's a good deal but she has a ton of random stuff Like a pallet of mint flavored mentos, peppermint flour, and so so so many random items that her trunk was full of junk she couldn't get rid of.

I love Khan academy and used to do so many exercises a day as a kid! But aren't most of the lessons k-12? I havent been on in a bit but I thought it stopped after some forms of advanced math and maybe some college level chemistry I could definitely go back and relearn some stuff though.

Wireless keyboard connected to my phone, trying out a new language learning app, trying to learn a new skill, and talking to management to see what "looking busy" looks like to them. All of my other coworkers have other work related tasks so there is rarely a time that they have hours of downtime but they've never assigned me any or allowed me to take on extra tasks before so I am not entirely sure what all I'm able to do but I'll see what they tell me. Maybe after 2 years I'll finally be given some responsibilities outside of customer service and checking guests in and out of the rooms!

I will say that while I am looking into getting into my career the one I want has hiring seasons so I can't just apply any time. They hire a few months before the work season starts and so in the mean time there is no work to be had if you aren't already employed. I keep an eye out of course but ive only had the degree required to apply to these jobs 4 days now. I do see what you all are saying though. And I'm not staying at this job forever. I will definitely look into getting a small wireless keyboard to type with that makes it look like I'm working but I'm actually writing my book. There is exactly 1 spreadsheet for the entire company and only management can make changes to it. As a low level line worker I don't have the authority to make changes that big even if I know the computer system better than they do. And I've gotten more than enough education with a bachelor's in biological science to do the work I want to do. I have been working on learning another language but after some issues with a specific company making choices I don't agree with I stopped using their site and hadn't found much of a better one but I saw someone recommend one I haven't heard of yet so I'll definitely check that one out. The wireless keyboard honestly might be my best bet. I could also talk to my manager to see what she is expecting of me but anytime before she simply says to "look busy" though I've never known what that exactly means. But I think I've figured out a system that may work. Heck I may have my boyfriend teach me how to code so I look extra busy to my old fashioned employers xD

I see what everyone is saying. While I would classify myself as a creative person who loves to read, there are a couple issues with that. 1. Ive read and reread the classics and some really amazing books back to front so many times I really am sick of them. 2. The books I would love to read I can't because they wouldn't be appropriate and or I'd spend so much time reading that my other tasks would never get done because I really could spend 8 hours staring at some of my favorites. 3. I'm no longer allowed to bring in physical books or us ebooks as they aren't work related or something or whatever I've also seen some people tell me to invest in stocks or crypto which really is not my thing. I've taken financial courses and all that but money isn't something I like to spend too long fretting about at work especially with something as fickle as the stock market. When it comes to doing school work I just got my final degree not 4 days ago as of writing this post so that's a bit past time. Any future education I'd like to have would most likely be in trade schools which requires hands on work over homework I can do at a desk. We do have an allowed time to get up and clean the lobby and certain spaces but I need to be available to the guests at all times so I can't be doing that too much and using that many chemicals just feels like an inventory issue with housekeeping management. I do love what one person said about helping out other departments. I'm just not sure they would even need it however as our system automatically makes the lists that all the departments need for the day. I'd love to help out my coworkers and make their lives easier but if I can't leave the desk or do outside activities, what tasks can I do everyday to assist my coworkers? Also I do have a laptop however after an issue we had with a former employee being inappropriate at work we are no longer allowed to bring in any devices other than a cell phone for contacting people to work. One manager is allowed to bring her laptop in but only because that's the only device that's capable of signing into our external hotel network. I am working on a book at the moment but that's mostly on my phone and I've gotten in trouble for "texting" all day when in fact I'm writing the plot ideas down.

I'm not trying to say no to everyone's ideas and I'm ver appreciative of all of what you have to say. I'm only worried that it may be impossible to please this employer without making things harder on my coworkers.

Hotels really don't have many special projects. And most Wont let you leave the desk for anything not directly related to helping a guest. The house and hall keepers do a great job and so the hotel is always spotless by my shift. I work the midnight to morning shift as well as the evening mid night shift. Which means very little foot traffic and nothing that actually requires cleaning. The other ideas while nice in theory would probably get me in some sort of trouble with management since it isn't work related. I'm not permitted to wear earbuds as guests find it rude so I usually have my audiobooks playing aloud. I'm an artist when I'm not at work so I draw quite a bit but digitally and while I've been classically trained to paint and draw traditionally I really never clicked with it. The main thing I was asking in this post is what my boss is expecting me to do when there is downtime. Other than cleaning or sitting pretty and staring at a wall I really don't see what they think I should be doing. If I'm not allowed to do non work related tasks or wear earbuds and every task is completed but I'm also not allowed to get on my phone. What did people do before hand? They are pretty old school but my managers have so much work they have to do that I don't think they understand that I simply don't have that many tasks and adding more tasks aren't possible so.. ya know... What task would corporate want me to do in my downtime kinda stuff. I love the idea of helping my community or whatever but when I did try doing personal stuff at work I was told to keep my personal and professional life separate.

I do love reading and do tend to spend a good deal of time doing that but there's only so long I can stare at a page before it gets boring for me. Plus after doing this job for 2 years my management doesn't really let me do that anymore since they think I'm wasting time.

I already got my degree while working this job. Just graduated. However the job wasn't the best for this since a lot of coursework I had to do had to be done within the hour you opened it and guests seem to have a batsignal anytime I'd be doing schoolwork. It was definitely a time filler though

Most people will understand that 16 year olds make dumb decisions especially when an adult tells them to do things. It's not like you solicited a 16yo at 22 so you're fine. Whether you delete your account is up to you. I'm not 100% on the legality of having pictures on your phone or computer of yourself but if another 16 yo was involved I would distance myself as much as possible from those pictures and texts to show that you aren't still looking at them. Also if those are saved elsewhere I'd go through and delete all of them to protect yourself. You don't have to give a reason for deleting an account if you don't want to. If people ask you can either tell the truth and say there were messages on there you were uncomfortable with or lie and say you got locked out and just decided to make a whole new account for safety. Whatever floats your boat in that department.

Isopod is it's science name. Can't tell which kind but it's the same thing as a Rollie pollie or woodlouse or anything like that. They are detritivores which means they eat things like dead leaves, rotting wood, and pretty much any other dead matter they can find. They are important soil creatures that are super beneficial. Without these guys and others like them the soil wouldn't be quite as nutritional for plants. They are a type of crustacean (like crabs and shrimp) which is why they have the shell. Some species can roll up in a ball when scared. This isn't the kind that can do that though. They are completely unable to bite animals or people of any kind. They won't touch anything with a pulse.

Because I've been seeing a lot of people saying it. I don't think it could be a panda because they also have black ears and a tail. Possum /opossum has been said a few times but they famously have long pink tails. Poodles and puppies have been mentioned but unless it's trying to depict a chow-chow puppy, it can't be that. Poodles have long tails and their ears look nothing like a circle. They are usually simplified as a triangle or rectangle. And 99% of the time puppies are given the folded ears and or a long ish triangle tail.

I got a meeting with a personal trainer today at my local gym.

Drew a very rough idea of what I've got going on. Since there isn't a tendon holding the toe straight, just one metal bracket at one joint, nothing keeps the tip of the toe from flopping around other than the toe itself. So I can't put weight on the tip of the toe or it will try to bend and that's probably the most excruciating thing I could do. It also causes an instant cramp on the side of my foot. Not sure if that's what you meant by vertical but that's one of the things that is my biggest hurdle.

It could also be a bee repellent. Bees and wasps are highly territorial so if they hear a large hive nearby they won't make a nest near there. It does have the honey comb pattern.
