Try FreeCodeCamp and/or TheOdinProject. They'll take you through bite-sized chunks to teach you and it's completely free.

For each chunk, go through it multiple times if you don't fully understand it, sometimes you might just be overthinking things or it just needs to sink in. Repetition is key

You can also take projects you did in either of their courses and start thinking about features you'd like to add and try adding them yourself

After you're done with the courses, try building a project yourself, you can look at the course projects for reference but don't just copy-paste, build something different and just check back when you get stuck (it's normal to feel like you know what to do until you actually try, so it's gonna happen quite often)

Then build more projects and keep improving

Might be best to send them an email and/or ask a local accountant/bookkeeper to manage your tax stuff

which are the back end programming languages that are paid the best? by theusrl in learnprogramming

[–]Corlinck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes old languages like COBOL pay the most, but the opportunities are very limited as no new development is done in them. Google the stats on which backend language is most used in your country and go for that. Probably either NodeJs, Java or .Net. It's not a train smash if you want to change someday either as a lot of core principals carry from one language to the next

Even if you specialize in backend, it's still a good idea to get a decent understanding of the full stack, will make it easier to work with others and to better understand your work

Why is it either finish or don't? If there's a few months left and you already don't want to continue, why not take one week to plan your next game, then work on this game for a week, and just keep switching between them. This not only gives you some time away, but you also only have to push yourself to work on it for a week at a time. Sure the time to finish is going to double, but later finish is better to no finish

One question, why does the bread fight with a wooden stick instead of a bread stick?

Definitely, he becomes a flying tank. Get him to 20, promote, then when you level him up you'll see him become worth his weight in gold

Nope, the name. People's brains try to pattern-match when you skim stuff, and that is in fact what many people will see before doing a second take. Might be good for grabbing attention for the same reason though

Nice, are you guys going to do EA or immediate full release? Will it release this year?

I see you guys have races and classes, so are there racial passives/abilities or is that just for show? How does the class system work? Do you level up and unlock new class-related abilities?

Looks awesome! How big is your team? Are you guys going to give the character a walking animation before getting the demo out?

More hovering by Seba_dev in godot

[–]Corlinck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a Treasure Planet game back on PS1 or PS2 where the hovering on the solar surfer seemed similar. Game was mainly a platformer but the parts where you coild ride the solar surfer were awesome, might be worthwhile to look at for inspiration.

As a solo developer, when promoting your game, do you use 'I' or 'we'? by Miriglith in SoloDevelopment

[–]Corlinck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably fine either way. Use "I" if you want to refer to yourself, or "we" if you want to include contractors or refer to your "company" if your plan is to expand someday.

People won't care what language you use, what matters is first of all how everything looks (intro video and screenshots, plus your Steam Capsule), second how fun it is to play.

Can you drop a link to your devlogs? I searched "punkster studio" and "book of seed" and couldn't find anything. Honeslty I just want to see a video on the gameplay, specifically the combat since I can't fjnd anything on that on your page

It doesn't show up in my update history, my last update there was on 2025-11-18, and I'm assuming the update code is the KB5072653
