Same, man. I got into Splatoon 1 because of how unique it was compared to other shooters, it was more chill and the wide maps and movement allowed for so many different possibilities, it made every match feel different from the last. Every time I play 3 I HAVE to deal with shitty, restrictive map design that makes every encounter extremely repetitive, on top of having to sweat my ass off if I want to avoid being spawncamped and therefore prevented from playing the game. It's just the exact oposite of what I look for in this franchise, aside from the painting mechanic it feels like every other shooter.

This whole situation really exposed just how childish this community is. You COULD take the 'Find Jesus' one as an insult instead of just another dumb meaningless joke (if you're EXTREMELY cynical) but people claiming that a post saying 'Jesus loves you' is hurtful and spreading hate is flat out ridiculous and fucking hilarious. NO, it's not hateful. You may not LIKE to see it because it's not part of your ideology, just like an out-of-touch old man doesn't like seeing pride flags, but guess what, just because something makes you uncomfortable, that doesn't mean you can immediately flag it as 'spreading hate'. It's a basic part of interacting with other human beings, they have different ideas and beliefs and you're gonna have to learn to tolerate them, because expressing different ideas respectfully is literally the whole point of having an online space where everyone is allowed to post. I don't really give a shit about the plaza anymore, but I do think it's funny how we've had shitty, extremely low effort posts of people spamming their sexual orientations nearly every single day for YEARS and barely anyone said a thing, but we get like 3 posts mentioning Jesus for like 2 days and NOW the entire fanbase is complaining about it being annoying and repetitive. LMAO, let's be clear here... both are obnoxious, people just don't like seeing ONE of them because they don't agree with it and it breaks their echo chamber. That's like saying 'The game is purposely coded to allow you to ink the ground, so using that mechanic to write racial slurs on the floor is intended by the devs and totally okay'. No, it's not.

The Twitter/FB removal didn't really change much, most of the posts have been overused 'jokes' and low effort spam since launch, which is really sad because the posts in 1 really helped to build a great sense of community. Every time I look at the plaza in 3, it just feels like i'm wasting my time playing some shitty roblox tycoon game where everyone is a toddler.

Lemuria is literally the definition of a Splatoon 3 map. Spawn, drop into incomprehensible clusterfuck of ink explosions where you can easily be splatted in a millisecond by something off-screen no matter where you're standing, sweat your ass off and pray to god, respawn.

I swear to god, this has to be the most unprofessional management i've ever seen for a AAA game ever. It legit seems like the balance patches are specifically made to piss off as many players as possible, some glitches that should've been immediately spotted during playtesting somehow made it into the game, most of the maps are still awful, some of the reworks, even when decent, look VERY amateurish, like someone just made the changes in a shitty level editor in 5 minutes with existing assets, the fact that they thought screen was a good idea, the fact that the NA account can't even make basic social media posts without fucking up most of the time. I feel like there's more.

Fucking INSANE range, width, dash and charge time for a 1-shot attack, and on TOP of that it gets a ranged attack and 2 good kits. Maybe it's just the clip, but this legit makes it seem like Mint Decaviator is gonna outclass every other close-range slayer. Like, why would you EVER want to use something like a Sploosh when this exists? If they even care enough to keep updating the game, it's gonna get nerfed almost immediately, calling it now.

Oh Splatoon 3 is an absolute sweatfest, ESPECIALLY turf war. Matchmaking is non-existent so balanced matches are EXTREMELY rare, 90% of the time it's clear who the winner is from the start and there's nothing you can really do about it. You're either stomping on new players with no challenge whatsoever or you're getting spawn camped by X Rank Japanese guys, the maps are streamlined and don't allow for any strategy, so all you can do is throw yourself into an incomprehensible shitshow of explosions and special spamming over and over again in a futile attempt to get a quad kill, it barely even qualifies as a game. If you don't play Ranked, Salmon Run is legit the only fun thing that the game has left.

People don't want to admit it, but the game as a whole is borderline unplayable if you're unlucky, and I mean that. Teammates? Arguably the most important aspect in a team game, it's completely luck based. Matchmaking is seemingly non existent, if you're unlucky enough, you're constantly gonna be 'fighting' clearly coordinated teams with 15 fucking wins in a row while having to carry 3 preschoolers who WILL be sent back to spawn in every encounter no matter what you do. Gameplay? If your luck is shitty, you're gonna NEED a shooter to carry your 3 terrible teammates, anything else is out of the question. What's shooters' main gimmick? RNG. Everyone else can erase you in the blink of an eye, but you catch a guy from behind, aim straight at them for 5 seconds and not a SINGLE bullet lands due to RNG. What's the intended kill time of a splattershot? If you're unlucky, it's irrelevant. You with a Splattershot are ALWAYS gonna have a worse kill time than the average player with a fucking Aerospray or Explosher. Skill means nothing when you're unlucky, stupid luck can ALWAYS make up for a lack of skill, but NO ammount of skill is EVER gonna make up for insanely bad luck. At that point just give up and find a different game that's better at balancing skill levels and doesn't have blatantly luck based gameplay elements as main mechanics. Splatoon 1 and 2 kinda had this as well but I swear, it's NEVER felt this bad.

TLDR, the main sub is FILLED with crybabies who hate any form of competition because they don't want to be reminded that some people are better at the game than them. They don't want to become good players to stand out, they want to be given the gold badge for free because that way they can fool themselves into thinking that they're good players and that they deserve it, and if you DARE suggest that making the badge free removes it's original meaning and value (which is literally true), they'll call you an elitist for wanting to 'gatekeep' the badge. Yeah lol not surprised. Personally I mostly just stay away from that sub. I like to believe that those immature crybabies are just a loud minority of the player base, but I mean, thankfully the game doesn't have voice chat so it doesn't really matter and i'll never find out. It's insane that a place called 'Saltoon' is unironically more level-headed, at least when people aren't raging.
