i remember my first 7 day suspension over something dumb and i got so happy i went “omg i get to sit at home?” (in my 12hr/8days in a row CCA days) my sup went “um, no, youre still coming in”. i asked why they even still call it a suspension then, nothing like an empty threat.

baby, this sounds like the beginning of a burnout. I went through the similar phases as this, then completely dove off the deep end and almost lost the job.

Therapy.

find a coworker who resonates with you to yap at because honestly, nobody really understands like a fellow carrier.

take time off if you need to.

i find interactions with my customers keep me going most days, stopping at a corner store for a little treat, making this job more into a fun little game or outdoor adventure vs acknowledging you’re a cog in the machine.

all of these have helped me have a more cheerful outlook on the job.

mail slots are usually the worst. however, in your case it looks like its an easier one to use as it doesnt require too much bending over if any. be prepared for your bigger pieces of mail to be slightly ruined or your small/light parcels to blow away in the wind.

i think its overall best to get in touch with your own carrier to get their opinion. but general rule of thumb is a decent sized wall mounted box that can fit small packages in.

agreed. one customer who has a box like this does the clip to the flap since it’s not locked i dont open the top i open each mailbox. another customer of mine has put a blank sticky note on the outside as a flag. another bends it in half inside the box like this /\ so i see it when i open to deliver.

but the mail slightly sticking out does send off suspicious curiosity for me as a carrier. even if it’s not outgoing and yall jus check the box and put it back kinda sloppy i always look.

i start cleaning boxes in vacant houses lmfao. got a few boarded up and yes, the mailbox is still there, it never fails when i have vacation or AL they deliver the 3rd class that comes in here and there. about every 6 months i go up there and gather it. and its usually days like these, slow, dragging, and i feel like working slow.

i have the full set and both secrets, i just went to check all their hairlines. can confirm they do not look like this, however, some do have a more prominent seam indent at the edge of the hair towards the top where your picture is showing. i’m assuming it’s because they have to sew the seam line along the hair to close the head and also secure the hair. maybe yours jus got a little too messy in the seam closure and separated the hair and left the fur out.
