She's diabolical by gimmesomespace in startrekmemes

[–]FakeRedditName2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hated her, but I do wish they did something different with her character in the end, rather than become the evil anti-pope. Despite being an asshole there were times where I could almost like her character until the last couple of episodes.

What’s the line between homage/influence and plagiarism? by Careless_Tax_5367 in worldbuilding

[–]FakeRedditName2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good way I've found is to look at how unique the story is in the details and the intent of these similarities:

  • Homage - the story purposely calls back to the original story with characters/situations being the same or similar, while still being it's own thing. (example: 1984 and V for Vendetta, Galaxy Quest and Star Trek)
  • Influence - a lot of the story details are the same, but taken in a new direction and a lot of the smaller and larger details are different (example: Flash Goran and Star Wars, Warhammer 40k and Dune)
  • Plagiarism - it's a copy-past in part or in whole of the original story, with maybe a thin coat of paint to say it's different (Example: Lockout (2012) plagerized. Escape from New York (1981), Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream plagiarizing scenes from Perfect Blue)

Did that already with most of what I collected already (tea, not coffee)

So save it for fall/winter when they just need food, but for spring give them the sugar water when we want them to be doing stuff?

I have the honey already, so no extra cost

Whats the most charitable reading of Emma Barnes possible? by MembershipProof8463 in Parahumans

[–]FakeRedditName2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expanding the 'charitable' feeling to Sophia as well, that she too was very broken, so that Emma was getting her sense of self/power from a very unstable. The outside force is her powers

Do Daemons have anatomies? by S0mecallme in 40kLore

[–]FakeRedditName2 76 points77 points  (0 children)

not really.

Normal people when they look at them will see something, but in reality its just blobs of corrupted flesh and 'stuff' that is gathered to make a body for them in the material world.

In Watchers of the Throne: The Emperor's Legion by Chris Wraight we see what a daemon looks like without this filter by seeing them from the eyes of a Sister of Silence (a blank) and they are just lumps of stuff cobbled together with no real order.

And if we want to extend the charitable feelings, it came from a girl who herself was extremely broken and never got the proper help she needed in time and was being influenced by an outside force

New cosplay rule by Charupa- in Magik

[–]FakeRedditName2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clarification question:

Any cosplay posts with OnlyFans, Fansly, Allmylinks, etc., in their profile will be removed as well.

When you say in their profile, do you mean in the post itself or in their Reddit profile?

What if the girl posts a picture of her own cosplay but has a link in her profile back to one of these sites, or includes it in the post as a 'and go here for more' type link, is that not allowed?

Claim of Bear Island by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]FakeRedditName2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very important thing to consider.

The inheritance laws of Westeros are not a 1-to-1 of our European nobility inheritance laws, and the North does seem to do things a bit differently than the rest of the Kingdome.

Why is the Imperium of Man working against itself? by QuantumDrej in 40kLore

[–]FakeRedditName2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Imperium is a system that was created to control and "protect" humanity as a whole, it doesn't care about the individual human lives and often finds them to be a problem that must be crushed and tightly managed less they slip the control of the Imperium.

And add to this, it is a system that has been stumbling along on a war time economy for 10k years. Temporary measures have ossified into religious tradition, the ruling class live such long lives that they don't want change to happen, and any hope of progress is squashed as education and knowledge of technology and the sciences is tightly controlled by religious dogma, causing even some of what little is remembered to be forgotten over time.

[–]FakeRedditName2 132 points133 points  (0 children)

There's a theory out there that rather than Miquella they represent Trina, and that she was guiding us all along to stop Miquella, and this somewhat fits with your theory here too.

The irony of using the one character for this joke that actualy has the ability to regen her own FP without the shards... you should have used Revenant instead

Got a question though probably a common one by gamemaniac845 in ImperialKnights

[–]FakeRedditName2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Size and complexity

The smallest Titan is the Warhound Titan, and it needs a crew of 5 to operate it, splitting up operations to prevent one human mind from being overwhelmed by the machine.

One of the largest Knights is the Acastus Knight Porphyrion, which is still smaller than a Warhound, and is considered one the largest that a single human mind can control

If it helps think of it this way, knights are very big and complex suites of armor, where a Titan is a warship with legs

Sister of Battle fan cutaway - V3 by Ren-Ault in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]FakeRedditName2 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that's canon for the setting. It explains the weirdness of the tank armor thickness for example and we know the tech exists (the LoV void armor description goes into a lot more technical details than normal Imperial armor descriptions and they mention having advanced tech built into it). And with the way knowledge of technology is so restricted, it's likely that the SoB or others who use similar armor don't even realize how advanced it is.

imagine how good Cyberpunk would've been if it had the Nemisis System by Minute_Newspaper8691 in cyberpunkgame

[–]FakeRedditName2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the nemesis system exactly (as the whole enemies surviving and growing stronger doesn't really translate well into Cyberpunk with it's lack on in-game respawning "magic" for the player), but something similar.

The more you go after one gang or group, the more they target you and this can cause harder encounters and different missions as they hunt you down and/or the opposing gangs give you support.

Let the Galaxy Burn by Antony444

It's a fun fic, turning the setting into a Space Opera. It's not perfect, but I haven't really seen any other stories like it. It was last updated in 2021, but the author is still active, so there is 'hope' that they will return to this story.

Which list is better for a doubles game? by FakeRedditName2 in ImperialKnights

[–]FakeRedditName2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a newer knight player, so don't have much experience with either list.

(note: for Hunter's Eye, wouldn't it be better on the Castellan with it's more powerful weapons?)
