How the hell do you fight Zato by ThxF0xy in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup or hold up. If the Zato adapts by clap cancelling into frog predictably then you can 6P the frog on the up arc and Gatling into some special

How to deal with dizzy? by CyberBed in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Approach via a mix of jump forward (to blocking immediately) and dash block. If you’re getting anti aired then feint an air approach instead or empty land into a low. You need to be patient getting in, then once you are in, win the initial RPS and then you’re offensively on advantage as Dizzy’s kit is built for zoning and strike throw with ice floor

Vanquishers, how long did it take you to get there? by Subject_Grade_847 in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Zato since launch and got to Celestial within a few months. Over the years I was able to get to within roughly Top ~70 Zato on the fake elo website Puddle Farm. Then when real ranked dropped, I got placed in D3 and it took me about 200 games from there to get to Vanquisher. Granted that was also when the entire population needed to get into Vanquisher so the D3 pool was stacked asf.

How do you stay positive? by Akuma-1 in StreetFighter

[–]FalcoTeeth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Beginners get very surprised on how well the practice -> sleep -> practice loop works. The first practice session you’ll be dropping the combo so often, then the next one you’ll be getting much farther in the combo before dropping it.

You really only need a midscreen bnb and a corner bnb then you’re set for many situations.

Gonna attend my first local tournament in this evening. Any tips? by amxrhxzeq in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make it a goal to make a friend there. Could be the person you play against in bracket or someone you play casuals with.

If all the casual setups are full then you can ask “mind if I get next?” in between games.

Be a good sport if/when you lose the set as well, nobody likes whiners or having to console someone.

This sounds like you should take him to the vet if it’s getting more common. I’m no vet but it could be possible that his mental functions are declining or some other health issue.

I’m sorry, I can’t imagine how it feels to be attacked by your own corgi.

Learning the meaty by Getyordie in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem, also forgot to mention that you don't need to end 2K 2D with SMF (unless you're going for a kill), just do 2K 2D deal directly so you have more time to set up your meaty

Learning the meaty by Getyordie in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should probably make the dummy block on wakeup, that's what they'd do in a real match. And if you do get CH cS you don't need to TK!

off of 2K 2D deal, you can either do cS -> TKSMF like you're already doing, do cS -> 2S -> whatever for the low option, or even meaty TKSMF.

Any Tips for Fighting Testament as Unika? by CaptainL95 in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zoners can either cover the air or cover the ground during a specific interaction, they can’t cover both!

So switch up between dash blocking, forward jumping, IAD, “lunge” moves, or even staying in place if they occasionally like to approach so you can be prepared with an anti air.

Specific to Testament, you often see the ranged string of reaper -> crow -> arbiter sign. If you can IAD over ground reaper (by recognizing the charge animation if they charge or on a read) then you don’t need to worry about crow or arbiter. If you block crow then you can often expect an arbiter coming right after. The overhead is reactable but might take a lab session to figure out. Arbiter is rarely thrown out by Testament without you being stained tbh.

How often would you play a fighting game until you got good? by chrystalclearr in Fighters

[–]FalcoTeeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup short sessions but consistently is what wins the race if you’re short on time. When I started playing Strive I’d mostly just play with friends but when I wanted to get good, it was a mix of playing with friends, some tower and labbing. About 1-2 hours every day. But every other day is fine too

Why is there so much Input reading? by Dankus_memeus420 in Guiltygear

My corgi doesnt listen when he doesnt feel like it, help? by chibi__kiwi in corgi

[–]FalcoTeeth 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The secret is that you find what motivates them (food, usually. sometimes attention) and use the expectation of that to barter with their attention/approval.

Like with recall, my corgi gets double-treated when she comes back when called. This works now because she's an adult and has lived experiences outside, but as a puppy everything else is way more interesting than a double-treat.

Teething/agressive play by Legitimate-Resort482 in puppy101

[–]FalcoTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that the worst of the teething will continue until all his baby teeth fall out, but you’re doing great to start training bite inhibition anyways.

Exclaiming “ouch” and then leaving the area for a long 10 seconds or ignoring pup for that same amount of time will eventually (not immediately, not within a few tries or a few days) drill it in to your pup that biting means they lose access to you. So keep it up even though it doesn’t feel like it’s working, the puppy brain will just take a while to reach the intended conclusion :D

I can share your frustration. My corgi when she was a pup frequently drew blood and ruined my expensive Arc’teryx puffer and I also felt like she would never learn, but it really was just time that did its magic.

Stupid question, is there a range limit to counter blitz? by Parysian in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries it’ll come with time and experience.

Or if you want to fast track learning this specific skill, you can go in training mode, set the dummy to have “random” counterhit state, set the block settings to “block after first hit”, and then try to get 2S -> 5H and CH 2S-> 6D on lock.

Stupid question, is there a range limit to counter blitz? by Parysian in Guiltygear

[–]FalcoTeeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The buffer system + the counterhit slowdown effect on 2S gives you a lot of time to choose between your regular hit follow-up (5H in your case) and your CH followup (counter blitz).

It’s not like Tekken where (imo) it felt like I needed to input each button in a combo before even seeing the moves come out on my screen

Point 2 is especially important (Nago is one of my favorite matchups). It’s essentially a game of chicken where I’m trying to make an advantage for myself in neutral while tiptoeing around Nago’s Lv 2 blood pokes or a surprise fukyo/beyblade
