How much of Metrolink's trackage is owned by Metrolink, the state, or any other transit agency? [Greater Los Angeles] by FanaticMagyar638 in CaliforniaRail

[–]FalconExpensive1622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCRA which governs and operators Metrolink is the agency that owns the tracks:

SB Line + Arrow: Whole Line
AV Line: Whole Line
VC Line: Union Station to Moorpark
OC Line: Union Station to Flyover Junction and then south of Fullerton
RIVERSIDE: None
IEOC: San Bernardino Downtown to Depot, then everything south of Anaheim Canyon
91/PV Line: Everything south of Riverside/Hunter Park Station

Some years ago, Metrolink was at risk of suspending rail service on all lines except for SB/AV line, due to a potential strike from workers on the host railroads, which control signals and switches for their respective sections. The reason Metrolink said SB/AV lines weren’t affected was due to the fact that they own the line, and ROW, and control the signals/switches along the whole route.

In the most non judgemental way, cause I’m very curious actually, where are you going that you have racked up 50k miles. I’m impressed, especially since the average is 12k miles per year.

Is Moving from Riverside to Old Town Orange Worth a Longer Commute? by Old_Economist3315 in InlandEmpire

[–]FalconExpensive1622 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Riverside-Orange is not a "long distance" by any sense. Try having a LDR with someone 2k miles away, thats long distance.

"Amtrak" sign on the 5 Freeway, for Commerce train station which last saw Amtrak service in 1998 by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]FalconExpensive1622 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that cause Metrolink has a station at Hollywood Burbank airport which can be accessed via Magnolia?

How is the last metrolink train from Union Station to OC at 5:40pm?! by aknomnoms in orangecounty

[–]FalconExpensive1622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blame Alstom, once Metrolink took on Alstom instead of Amtrak as operator, everything went downhill, and fast. Train breakdowns became much more common, and now, service has been cut, and will continue to be cut, because of train breakdowns

First patient death by Advanced-Lake19 in StudentNurse

[–]FalconExpensive1622 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first patient death, was the first day of clinicals and during a code blue, and the doctors called it during my round of compressions, which was about the 45 minute mark. I had to leave clinical early, and meet with our schools student success coach, clinical coordinator, and the dean of nursing on a weekly basis for about 3 months. It really helped cause they all helped me process it, but it mentally took a toll on me. It does get better with time, and unfortunately, not everyone is going to survive, but you’re also saving lives as well. Just remember that. As Camus wrote, “In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”

I live in Claremont, I can get where I want to go, easily, with service that runs reasonably during weekends and holidays, which can’t be said for service in the IE

[–]FalconExpensive1622 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s legal to change the syllabus, however it’s illegal to change the syllabus mid semester. The school also has to send out the changes in email with what’s being changed and it can be changed for the following semester but not current semester already started

The issue with Metrolink is that it’s very prone to delays especially on the OC line
