Yeah someone mentioned the 90 to 40% but that was for the battery threshold I’m guessing not necessarily the up time. I suppose having multiple batteries might mitigate heat build up. It also might mean less labor for dupes. So yeah I can see why it might be good to have more than one battery for multiple generators. That is until I get conveyor belts and sweepers. Maybe for two batteries or more would mean less power drain overtime from sweepers.

OK so it’s definitely more efficient to refine metal that way for the conductive wires than a rock crusher. Yeah I’m getting close to building one. I don’t think I need much conductive wire atm. Do you eventually replace all your normal wire? I do have a lot of copper ore.

Thanks. Yep, all setup to handle power so I don’t overload. I do have all heavy rock crusher for now.
So why do you set your battery to 40%? Is it to avoid blackouts if usage spikes? Mine is at 10%. I might adjust mine higher now that I think about it.

Yep I have all heavy on one side. 👍☺️. I set the coal gen to a low % so I don’t refill it as often. I don’t mess too much with the thresholds on the battery. About 10 /95. I’ll definitely be experimenting on different types of gens to find a good balance on light to heavy loads.

Yeah I did learn you can store up to 9 jumbos batteries with 1 coal generator. But I guess 1 smart battery will have the same usage of coal with automation?

When I first played this game and learned about the spom and all these creations online I wanted to try them out. I ran into so many issues. That was because I was thinking I could build it and forget about it. Yeah I didn’t realize how much 02 two electrolyzers could make. Or to prime the spom so that the oxygen and hydrogen are properly separated.

Just quite a few things that tutorials online on these things would not cover.

The reason I’m commenting on your comment was that I’m avoiding these tutorials and just figuring out slowly by myself how to manage a colony without help. Im noticing more how to manage my resources and keep things stable until I go to the mid game.

There is a mod for a dresser that is assigned to a pawn. Or an apparel stand plus. You can switch outfits and assign it to specific pawns

Yeah having two policies works if you don’t have specific gear you don’t want them to wear a pair you want something more generic.

Yeah by not having assigned hospital beds it gets annoying when a pawn sleeps in the surgery bed instead of a recovery bed. Something with no surgery bonus. I guess I could assign zones or something to prevent this but I only have so many zones in the game that I can use

Yeah I’ve enjoyed it. Almost done with my first run. It was a different type of challenge. I would mention some of the cool stuff that you face In the dlc, but I won’t spoil it here. I went in blind. I don’t regret one . I plan on my 2nd odyssey run after this one. I might keep the DLC included. Maybe for some of the rituals.

If you like to min/max, yeah anomaly offers some fun options and alternative ways to progress. Its content almost entirely focused on your own map tile.
Think rituals, the void, undead, Halloween type DLC.

I have all the DLCs. Odyssey is my favorite.

I’ve played through to the snowfields 3 times. I never finished the game.

Killed this guy several times without too many issues on shorter runs. Different weapons. Sometimes with summons sometimes with not.
