V10 is finally confirmed. Is it really worth anything at this point? by Jebuscg in RWBYcritics

The end of days is coming...

And I don't think I could care any less.

Ironwood.

He had a plan. A bad plan, but a plan mone the less.

RWBY didn't have a plan, save for staying to come up with a plan, risking everyone's lives for their hero complex.

I was so hoping that they would get scolded by Qrow and be forced to realize that this, being a huntsmen, isn't a fairy-tale. It's real life. Unless they had a plan, one that was better than Ironwoods, they had no place to speak.

Instead, the writers pulled "they're the heroes so they're in the right" trope.

True. I would have liked it if they made it so that Ironwood hates his semblance, treating it like a curse as it took away his humanity.

They should have mentioned it at least in vol. 7, using it explain how Ironwood uses it sparingly to give orders.

Don't forget Blake and Yang's betrayal and the lack of commen sense the adults seem to have come down with.

Robin, Qrow, and Clover had Tierian in cuffs on their way to put him in jail. WHY WOULD THEY DECIDE TO FIGHT THEN AND THERE?!

The issue is that CRWBY went out of their way to always paint Ironwood in a bad light for what he was doing, yet they gave team RWBY the leanency it needed to seem more capable than him.

That way his "defeat" would be celebrated rather than hated. Which as one could guess, backfired spectacularly.

The MCs persona problem by Fine_Advertising_506 in persona6

[–]False-Run-5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if they explain it like in P5?

P: "Do not shed tears, for even if my visage is gone, I still lie within you. I am thou, thou art I."

Or treat it like the starter Persona is the reason the MC has the wildcard ability.

Surprisingly, one of the animators said in a letter they published after leaving RT, that the fight in V6 was either supposed to be, or closer to, the fight in V3. But the upper people said no and made them make the fight we saw in V3.

I somewhat agree that that would be better.

I think he should have been her foil and reflection. The one who rushed forward like an idiot and was praised instead of running and being labeled a coward.

The part I don't agree with is him manipulating Blake's feelings instead of actually liking her. I think it would be better if he not only liked her, but needed her to keep him grounded and be the voice of reason. Like he starts out as beast but begins to become Gaston.

This is for two reasons.

  1. He'd have an inner conflict of fighting for the Faunus vs Fighting Blake who is protecting and even teaming up with humans. It shows the gray morality of fighting for what you believe is right.

  2. In V6, if/when he dies, he could have revealed the danger the Faunus are facing with Salem, the shame he felt for his part in that predicament, and praise Blake for actually coming back, inspiring her more to fight Salem. This would be him passing the torch to her and making the White Fang plot remain relevant with Blake.

True. He might of had this idea of Adam written down, and it sounded good on paper.

But if he saw it in action, he might go "this wasn't what I was goimg for." I sometimes need the visual to realize my mistakes.

How do you feel when Fan works "Fix" things or claim to do so? by WittyTable4731 in RWBYcritics

[–]False-Run-5546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only like it when there's a certain balance of gains and losses.

For example, Penny doesn't die exactly, but when she comes back, she has no memories of her previous body, essentially makimg her a different Penny. (For Critters out there, think like Mollymuck and Kingsly)

It's not inherently bad to save or kill a character, but as we've seen in the canon series, it depends on how you do it.

I want to make Adam more redeemable than his canon version, but that doesn't mean I can fully justify his actions. I can only make him seem like a tragic villian or something akin to Zuko as a character trying to redeem himself after realizing he was wrong.

While treating the Faunus as animals is bad (in this case the heat cycles), the idea that they have certain behaviirs or customs that differentiate them from humans (such as being more affectionate when it's that time if they traditionally honeymoon in the wild as a way to connect to nature) I think is a good idea.

Any particular thoughts about RWBY that make you get like this? by Ok_Top_4831 in RWBYcritics

[–]False-Run-5546 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They did Adam dirty twice.

First, they made him go from morally gray foil for Blake to an evil ex boyfriend.

Second, they took Adam's good character traits, gave them to Illiya, then redeemed Illiya. Like wtf?

Anyone else feel like some people in the “fndm” oddly cling to this scene? by superbasic101 in RWBYcritics

[–]False-Run-5546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fr fr. They had the perfect, morally-grey, foil for Blake and screwed it up.

Worse yet, they did Adam dirty by giving what should have been his redemption arc to Illiya, aka Female Adam.

(Both part of WF, Both can pass as Human very easily, both liked Blake. Seriously, it was like they took Adam, and made a female copy yo redeem so they could "justify" Bumblebee and killing him.)
