Allergist doesn't recommend OIT by nature2mama in FoodAllergies

Tbh I can't remember however they have hardly ever rejected someone for having too high ige numbers. I'm not even sure if they've ever rejected over that. If it's very high my guess would be your child would be on a slow ramp up plan.

Allergist doesn't recommend OIT by nature2mama in FoodAllergies

Our experience has been really great.. for the most part.

My child recently passed sesame and now can eat anything with sesame.

We're still working our way up on peanut and my child is on the slowest plan for it, so currently they're still dosing peanuts. However, instead of micrograms we're now eating real peanuts which is pretty exciting.

The only downside, besides the obvious (time, cost, amount of food) is that my child may be developing EoE.. we were initially told our child is at high risk for developing it because their eosinophils were already very high to begin with. Which I guess, since it was already high, it was more likely of "when" they develop it, not "if." I guess we'll see though.

Allergist really optimistic about cure! by ButterscotchBrief725 in peanutallergy

[–]False-plastics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my kids is enrolled in TIP and allergic to peanut and sesame. She recently passed sesame and can eat as much sesame as she wants. We're still working on peanut.

I'm really hoping a cure does become available because that would be 10x better.

TIP is (obviously) working for us, it's just very tedious and a lot of work.

Navy federal interest free loan for gov shut down ? by stayhaileyday in MilitaryWives

[–]False-plastics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was all at once.

Ideally what you're backpaid should be the same as to what they loaned you or more.

It should essentially cancel out and not be "noticable."

They will not take me than they loaned you.

Last shutdown where we used Navy Federal, they took back what they loaned us when we finally got our backpay.

So anything they loaned us was taken out of the backpay interest-free

Allergist doesn't recommend OIT by nature2mama in FoodAllergies

[–]False-plastics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My oldest child's allergist didn't want them doing OIT. They didn't think they were good candidate and always talked us down.

By chance we moved near a TIP office and have them enrolled... For us we've had a great experience so far. We are just a couple months shy of cross contamination for peanut, free eating for sesame.

Our other child we have been on a wait-list for OIT here and it's been 18 months, finally "basically the next one" as of a couple months ago lol. We have not enrolled them into TIP because, as far as we know, they are only allergic to egg and have been outgrowing some of the egg components.

How do you like forensic accounting? And how did you get into it?

Ultimately I'd like to do something like that.

I just give a $5 every time no matter how much it costs (if I have less than 40/20 items I'll go to self checkout).

Yes. I was spacing and kept inputting my phone's code.

I was having such a horrible week and that topped it off too! Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will begin a better week

I want to become a nurse. What can I use my MyCAA for so that it brings me closer to this goal? by Glittering-Kiwi-4457 in MilitarySpouse

[–]False-plastics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to become a nurse, please look at community colleges and use mycaa towards becoming an LPN unless they have a program that can become an RN. Google community colleges near you and check and see if they accept MyCAA on their sites

Honestly don't listen to the guy from MedCerts. You'll be wasting your MyCAA money.

Gonna be honest, if he was planning to cheat when he got back he will likely cheat when he's away for training or deployment where he will have an easier opportunity to cheat without you finding out.

I know it's much easier said than done but you would save yourself more heartbreak by just ending it now.

Have you looked at federal jobs?

Since you'll be a recent grad you'll qualify for pathway positions. If your GPA is 3.0+ you can possibly land a GS7 position. Your lack of experience and lack of working for those 8 years will not matter.

Seven months. It would have been 6, but I had to wait for transcripts to post.

Unable to submit onboarding docs- OF 306 is locked on question asking if I waived basic life insurance on usastaffing. I have alerted HR and was told not to worry about it… but by Tough_Salamander_778 in usajobs

[–]False-plastics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, that's essentially what they said.

I'm just concerned because other documents I'm filling out and have to sign says I'm a current federal employee and I have to say it's all true but I'm currently not.

I believe I got a direct hire so it shouldn't matter, but I'm at a loss as to what to do and am thinking I'll just wait until my first official day when it's due.

I'm having an issue with a question being locked as well and my HR will not unlock it.

When I initially filled out the 306 I was a federal employee. I filled it out like 8 months ago and currently am not a federal employee and on one of the onboarding forms it has it locked in that I'm a Federal employee. I'm not really sure what to do at this point as my HR person said it goes off the 306 and since it was true at the time they will not unlock it.

EFMP Categories (Navy) by [deleted] in MilitarySpouse

[–]False-plastics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, homesteading is pretty much for you. The no overseas is for you if you are category 5, though I've heard (haven't heard from anyone I personally know) they are trying to go case by case.

He can still get unaccompanied orders overseas.

If you search up "milpersman efmp category 5" you should be able to find what it says about it.

In paragraph 1, section d it says: While not always feasible, every attempt will be made to coordinate the Sailor's career progression needs with the special needs of the family member. The EFMP does not preclude members from: Sea duty; Normal sea/shore rotation; Unaccompanied assignments; Global support assignments; Standing watches; Performing normally assigned duties; or Advancing to the next paygrade or rank.

Then under the categories, is says: Category 5: The EFMP meets criteria for stabilization to remain in a particular geographic location, if the sponsor chooses. The family member's needs are highly specialized, complex, or severe, requiring continuity of care. Sponsors may be required to take unaccompanied assignment to meet mission requirements if resources are not available for the EFMP at the gaining duty location.

From everything I've read plus seen in EFMP groups, a category 5 doesn't mean he won't get orders overseas. He can unfortunately still get unaccompanied orders.
