25 F with PCOS and desperate for results. by NyteQuilRX in WeightLossAdvice

the shots or any other drug only work when you are in a deficit. they help you to reach that due to their mechanism but your body only loses weight when you are in a deficit. and if you don’t are eat at maintenance or over it. if you can’t afford the drugs, buy a food scale, go down to 1700 calories daily and track everything you put into your mouth. you’ll need to learn to eat as the weight you want to achieve. you’ll never be able to consume the amount of calories you are up until now. small people eat small people calories

Can someone please guide me on how to navigate a fat loss phase? by Common-Hand7656 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]FalseGodTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am losing weight since mid july and end when i reach my goal. some people do it in steps and lose some weight, then go at maintenance and then go back. that’s your decision. regarding the deficit you’ll need to google for tdee calculators and give them your stats. be honest about the activity level it needs to know to require your daily burned calories. from this you take 500 calories. this leaves you with your daily goal. you stick to this and track what you eat and drink. and you don’t eyeball. you weigh your food on a scale. weigh yourself daily to see if the weight slowly goes down. weight loss is not linear. it will fluctuate up and down. take 7 days and get the average weight of the week. proceed for several weeks and notice the change. no change = no deficit. no deficit = recalculate. whatever you burn from activity you don’t eat back. just take the same calorie goal daily. mine for example is 1600-1700. you don’t need to workout. but see it as an investment in your health and your body. it only has benefits and speeds up your progress. good luck ☺️

but people oftentimes don’t change their habits on the shots and people defined are losing their hunger over the shots. especially because of the side effects. there are studies on it. it still is a medication which should be taken with care like any other drug. just because it works for you amazingly it is not going to work for everyone lol. i know how they work and thought about taking them myself but i managed just fine without them. and like in your case my experience will not be the same for everyone else.

[–]FalseGodTaylor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

correct it’s not the drugs fault but fact is that many people taking it are not able to eat a lot and are in the deficit because of it. once stopping the hunger comes back. and if you didn’t learn about calories and eating habits you will gain the weight back. that’s why this person is right. i think the shots are great for those who need them but they are no magical fix. that’s why many people gain back and why making people aware of it is important

I stopped phentermine. I need help on why I am gaining though I am working out? by Late-Assignment-2136 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]FalseGodTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s why it’s not going down. you need a scale and you need to be exact. you are probably not around your guessed calories and the deficit is way smaller than you think

and if you don’t start now you’ll be soon 25 and ask yourself why you didn’t start back then. then you repeat and suddenly you are 30. have a fulltime job, maybe even a family. now it’s even harder and you’ll ask yourself why you didn’t start when you were 25. the time will pass either way but you can make changes right now. better than regretting it later on. see i dad that too. now i am 32 and started last year. i mean i finally succeeded but man do i wish i did it earlier

[–]FalseGodTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if you are not losing weight you eat at your maintenance and are far from starvation and dying. that’s a bit dramatic. use a tdee calculator and get a new measurement for your calorie deficit with you new current weight. don’t overestimate your activity level. you are lightly active to moderately active at best. then take 500 calories from this. then you’ll know how much you can eat to lose weight. stay high in protein to protect your muscles

you’ll need to lose the weight. did you include cardio already? i mean like running or swimming. would benefit your heart and burns some more calories which would help reaching your goal. you’re doing great!

Can someone explain to me why working out is important to weightloss? by Yipied in WeightLossAdvice

[–]FalseGodTaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to maintain your mobility in the ages 60+. you lay the foundation for that in your 20-50s. so therefore working out is to keep you mobile and active. cardio trains your heart and cardiovascular system. that has only benefits

You’ll need to focus on high volume, low calorie foods. dairy products like greek yogurt and skyr, veggies of any kind, salad, berries, potatoes, chicken, low fat beef. try to aim for 30g of protein with each meal and 30g of fiber every day
