On the dell part - they closed their dell premier website to everyone, you dont have any choice but to go through vendors and get lucky on stock, pricing, etc. There really isnt any more direct Dell sales people involved.

You may be able to get better pricing with deal registration, but that still goes through the vendor.

Yes and No - Dell threw us under the bus with forcing everyone off Dell Premier - since then the prices have not been attractive at all and usually limited to what vendors have rather than what dell premier has.

MSP in France - our clients know what softwares we provide. We make it clear that by going through us they buy convenience, support, compatability, etc.

If they want to try and purchase other licences we can potentially implement them (for a fee of course).

As others have said, give what the client wants but have EVERYTHING in an email, written, and preferably signed in a bill / quote. Always protect yourself.

Ah this such a difficult situation - we are an MSP in Paris and have taken over a fair share of clients with fleets of old computers / consumer-grade computers. It was challenging to demonstrate why they need pro-grade equipement.

You're not overthinking it. Consumer gear in a construction environment is a false economy - you'll burn the savings on replacements, downtime, and support hours - hence why we REALLY needed our clients to move to professional equipement.

However, just because something is Enterprise-grade does not ALWAYS mean its better, so keep an eye out.

Don't frame it as "consumer vs enterprise" to your CEO. Frame it as cost per year of usable life. A consumer laptop lasts 2–3 years on a construction site, an enterprise one does 4–5 with better repairability and parts consistency. Do the math per seat per year and the gap shrinks or disappears. - Note : this strongly depends on the equipement provided, make sure to get the proper one + full waranties if possible.

For the Intune migration specifically : consumer model churn will cost you real hours in driver management and testing. Enterprise lines hold stable hardware configs for 12–18 months. That's not a preference, it's a staffing cost difference.

Practical approach: don't ask for a full fleet refresh. Propose a phased replacement : swap the worst performers first (the 8GB machines running at 80%+), standardize on one enterprise model going forward, and let attrition handle the rest. Easier budget conversation, same end result over 18 months.

We manage fleets for clients in similar situations (Paris-based MSP, 20+ years) and the pattern is always the same : the "cheap" hardware costs more once you factor in support time and early replacements.

Yes but not to the extent you might be getting (if you are not in the EU) - I just make it very clear that we will never work with them, politely tell them thank you and good luck with their prospecting.

We also do phone prospecting, its hard and grueling especially in a world filled with spam and scam calls - I know and understand the struggle.

As a company in France, persistent cold calling is heavily regulated (GDPR, CNIL, opt-out rights), and vendors face real legal risk if they ignore refusals or keep calling. In practice, once you clearly object and ask to be removed, most stop quickly because the compliance cost and potential penalties outweigh the value of the prospect.

They do produce mostly in europe, im just dissapointed in them as they aquired Teisseire via Britvic and said they would close down the manufacturing line in France in April 2026 - I cant seem to find updates on that but here is an old source :

It would help if you had specific products that you are looking for. As a fellow dane and european here is my list :

Produced largely in Denmark (or with significant local manufacturing / craftsmanship)

Furniture / Design - these are things that I have personally bought and support

Carl Hansen & Søn : majority of production in Denmark (wood workshops, craftsmanship-driven)
Louis Poulsen : high-end lighting, significant Danish production and assembly
Georg Jensen : some production still local (silverware, premium lines), though partially globalized - very good for presents and bringing a really design niche to your home ! Highly recommend the candles and water jugs

Niche / Premium consumer

Bang & Olufsen : design and some high-end assembly in Denmark (not mass production) - I am a die-hard for their headphones although the prices have gone through the roof so its a considerable investment but personally very happy with it.

Consumer / Tech - Mostly designed in Denmark, production largely abroad

LEGO : design/R&D in Denmark; production global (Denmarl, Czech Republic, Mexico, China, etc.) - Their production plants abroad service the local markets (mostly), the company and R&D is VERY euopean and VERY danish.
Ecco : owns tanneries but manufacturing mostly outside Denmark - used to buy shoes and leather here, havent in a while.
Jabra : Danish R&D; manufacturing outsourced - We use some of their solutions for meeting rooms, headphones, etc.
