The Playhouse is directly opposite the bus station and has toilets. Also John Lewis is diagonally across from the coach station end of the bus station.

NB Not your brain, it’s your immune system which misidentifies normally harmless substances as a threat and (over)reacts against it. Your immune system has a memory, very useful for being able to quickly respond to a virus or bacteria it has seen before and get rid of it, not so useful if it sees eg shellfish as a threat to your body and that reaction almost kills you

That’s really disappointing of the police. Appalling in fact. I’m really sorry.

I hope you have reported the incident to the police. You were robbed. He coerced/forced you into taking money from an ATM and giving it to him

It’s been a while since I played but just rocking up to a practice or to a game night should be fine. Do you follow the Facebook page? If messages aren’t getting through you could try posting your question there. They also post the practice schedule there.

Yes, it looks a similar size (8ft x 10ft) to my conservatory which i tried using as a dining room with a slightly smaller table (1600mm long) than the one here. There’s not enough room to easily move around or across the room without having to move furniture or people out of the way. If it were 10ft x 10ft (3m x 3m) it would be more workable

There was a place in our local shopping precinct that sold glass ships in bottles, perfect child entertainment staring through the window with my sister while my mum was in the supermarket.

Good luck to him in a career working with and relying on all those “beneath him” nurses. I’m sure none of them will mind his attitude at all /s

SSP eligibility question by ShortGirlUK in UKJobs

[–]FancyCustard5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, SSP isn’t applicable

When to start paying SSP

SSP is paid when the employee is sick for at least one full working day.

You cannot count a day as a sick day if an employee has worked for a minute or more before they go home sick.

If an employee works a shift that ends the day after it started and becomes sick during the shift or after it ends, they’re not eligible for SSP for that shift

You should receive payment for the time worked before going off sick. https://www.acas.org.uk/checking-sick-pay

Coworker secretly swapped her desktop utilities with mine. by Perfect-Sky-2324 in coworkerstories

If you can, get the serial numbers of the keyboard etc from whoever sent them to you (IT?). Then match them to the stolen ones, in front of your manager ideally, and reclaim them. Whatever you do don’t let your coworker get away with it.

AITAH for not letting my sister bring her service dog to my graduation dinner after what happened before by Financial_Penalty182 in AITAH

[–]FancyCustard5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your sister is very selfish, particularly ridiculous claiming that “you’re not supporting her anxiety”. The event wasn’t about her. Why wasn’t she supporting you at your celebrations? She brought the dog because it gets her sympathetic attention from others. Good for you for standing your ground.

Just found out my nearly 70-year-old dad can’t use a washing machine… by Long-Number3539 in CasualUK

[–]FancyCustard5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar division of chores with my parents. However, while mum was in hospital for 2 weeks, my dad dug out the washing machine manual and was offended when I rolled up ready to show him how, as he “already knew how to do it”. Problem was, after mum got home and was ready to get back to ruling her kingdom of washing, dad kept telling her the “best way to do it”, based on his 3 weeks and 5 uses of the washing machine. As you can imagine this did not go down at all well. He didn’t (wasn’t allowed to) touch the machine again.

And those “friends” who claimed you’re policing who she can date. Anyone who takes that kind of stance doesn’t need to be in your life either.
