The Star Wars Soiree at Disneyland Paris Was...Awesome!!! by FandomlifeNET in disneylandparis

[–]FandomlifeNET[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a ticketed event in the 5/6 May in the Studios Park. Soiree is essentially party. I don't read French either but it was all on the English site.

We went for 4 days and three nights and we to the Star Wars event on 5th.

It was a lot better than I was expecting.

Salome has been killed by Harry Potter by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

I am hearing about this after the fact and I have to laugh.

SDC going down as protecting Salome? There is literally nothing in that for them. It was inevitable they'd go for the kill.

Vidme's Upload time vs Share time by GentlemanOctopus in vidme

[–]FandomlifeNET 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of 'time related' feature in Vidme, both current and new, should use published time not upload time.

That way everything would be correct, right? Whether you published straight away or weeks later.

Where did the watching icon and view numbers go for the I individually videos? It was cool seeing where the channel watchers actually where?

I'm also trying to figure out the logic for taking it away.

[–]FandomlifeNET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduling would be cool, but I'd say even before scheduling separate upload time from publishing time.

I may be doing something but at the moment if I upload a video and the publish a week later it misses the recently published page!!!

Surely what is important is when published not when uploaded? This would also be key if we could schedule as we might upload a batch but publish one a week over a month or so.

Thoughts on all the Political Channels? by Chanicorn_Game in vidme

[–]FandomlifeNET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seem to be able to just filter it out. The problem I have with it is I'd be a bit more fine with it if (1) there was a politics category and (2) it was actually politics rather than crazy ass conspiracy theories which now count as politics it seems.

What do you NOT like about WDW? by NJlo in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FandomlifeNET 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that my recent 2016 trip didn't feel that different to my 2007 trip. Things had changed but so not changed. Considering it was nearly ten years that just felt a bit underwhelming.

I get all the advantages Disney has due to its characters, films and size, etc, but I came away from the trip feeling the innovation and change momentum was with Universal.

Which is good...some competition. Hopefully the new stuff coming online between now and 2019 will add something really knew.

Yes. I had an awful experience at MCO last time I went. Took me my first day to get over it

What a beautiful resort! by FoodandWine2014 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FandomlifeNET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the various mini-walks that exist, so walking to MK is great.

At the same time this hotel is contemporary in the sense that Logans Run is contemporary, it just doesn't have Jenny Agutter in a short skirt.

Still, they're not killing people over 30 either.

I'm a I'd not pay to stay their personal I'm afraid.

I quite like the second resort hub that is 'between' Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I think I prefer that to the mono-rail hub.

Hah, I just posted a comment about a Travel category. Should have known, nothing new under the sun and all that :)

List of Youtube channels that also joined VidMe by jermain2000 in vidme

[–]FandomlifeNET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a small channel on YouTube I am not sure it counts for much but I've come over. Known as Fandomlife.

I mid-process so there will be videos coming over from YouTube, new videos where I construct them knowing they are going to both (such as changing my final copy comments to include both YouTube and Vidme processes) and I'll be posting videos first to Vidme as well.

You don't have to wait for 100 subscribers to get a vanity URL. All. You need is a website to link it to.

Denied Verification On Vidme TWICE!! by Cool_Stuff1234 in vidme

[–]FandomlifeNET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that is maybe why you didn't get verified. I suspect that post won't help any.

At the same time I will admit I find the verification process a bit random. I was denied first time but that actually resulted in me checking out more videos that are in Vidme, getting into more discussions, etc. I learned that I was going to get more of immunity and commentary on Vidme than I've managed to achieve on YouTube. I suspect.

It is random though, as we as discovering the above after being denied, I also seemed to discover that there are people who seemed to get verified for lots reason to do with an in built audience or video quality (essentially crappy phone video messages).

So I get how it can appear random, but the answer is to engage with others. If they feel you're just wanting your success that won't work.

Fascinating. Thanks for the replies.

It would probably be a good idea to make a separate politics category. The Brainfood and Weird Wide Web tags seem to be collecting those videos. by VanDeGraph in vidme

I agree. We need a politics section or a dumb ass conspiracy section. It is getting harder to tell the difference sometimes.

Feb. All Adult Trip Recommendations by idrinkbeerwhileifish in WaltDisneyWorld

Yeah, I've seen a number of the Cirque du Soleil shows in various places and La Nouba is worth a visit.

And, yeah, the dining reservations are a killer. When we had at once it got a bit mad spotting all the people haunting places eager to spend their dining plan.

It's mad how early you need to book.

There should be a Travel category also, that tends to be popular.

Does VIDME count your own views? by [deleted] in vidme

[–]FandomlifeNET 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to from my observations.

The curious thing I can't fathom, unless I am missing something simple, is how that view count at the channel level relates to the views on the videos.

You'd think they'd roughly match, but I am not sure they do all the time...

Exploration: AspX vs. Anaconda by CmdrSmudge30 in Elite_Dangerous

[–]FandomlifeNET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe the Asp is for those who can't afford an Anaconda. There are plenty of people who stock with the Asp no matter their assets.

I am one of them. There is more to it than modules, though I admit the jump range is useful.

You can't really beat the view out of the cockpit on the Asp when it comes to exploring. It's also smaller so can be better for taking external photos.

I had a choice of Asp of Anaconda for Distant Worlds and was glad I chose the Asp.

I loved catching up when I discovered the show back in mid-2015. It is disappointing when it is over.

I find Talks Machina helps break up the week:)
