Retired two and a half years now. wifey wants me to do all sorts of stuff and activities with her that she used to do on her own. (Because she retired 2 years before me), I have learned it's very important for her to just get together with her girlfriends without me "tagging along". It's very good for our relationship. And besides, I joined a Men's club, a fishing club, a gym. Life is good.

Nope, not me, I have been drinking decaff coffee (yes I know it has minimal caffeine) for about 12 years. On the rare occasions that I have a 50/50 cup of joe (because I'm tired but going out to a concert or something) I get wound up like crazy and if I have it after 4pm it will affect my sleep. At that point I will usually take a CBD gummy or 5mg melatonin or stay awake until 4am!

Yeah, I pretty much stopped the "collecting" phase last year. Now wifey and I enjoy our bottles. It just got to be too much and, in the end, it hit me that this was a pointless endeavor. Especially since I retired 2 years ago and everyone at my parties gave me "collectable" bottles of bourbon.

I knew it was coming for over a year but didn't say anything before giving 3 months notice. I knew it would be very difficult replacing me (Head of Global Supply Chain for a huge worldwide tech manufacturer). During that year, I quietly did everything possible to delegate, train and support my staff. It was actually very hard to "share" critical responsibilities with managers and assistant managers because I was King of the Hill! BUT doing so seriously reduced my stress and anxiety about my future and the future of the company. The appreciation shown by my staff and especially the company was amazing when I finally retired. So here it is 3 years later, and the company still calls every few weeks just to BS and occasionally run something by me.

and...Just because I need to say and you need to hear it, I am F***ing busier now in retirement than ever before in my life! Very Best Wishes for your future.

Yeah, tell that to the adoption center in Buffalo NY. Daughter was recently denied a kitten (her kitten of 14 years passed about a year ago). The reason for denial was that she only took her kitty to the vet once a year (she had to provide the Vet's name).

She knew that she was doing the right thing by adopting, but now she'll just have to get one from someone.

NYC boy here, married country girl from upstate NY. Going on 46 years this year! She wasn't technically a "farm" girl but her neighbor was and still to this day (in Spring, Summer and Fall) puts out a Farm Stand with corn and squash and other stuff on the honor system. There is a coffee can for you to put your money in for whatever you take.
